Re: Sengoku 2 MVS problem

Could be a failed custom, or a bad rom or just a poor solder joint. Concentrate your efforts on the PROG board.

Re: Replacement JVS harness for SEGA Naomi

That's what I originally thought, but you can see it in the pic, it's correctly pinned:

Re: Replacement JVS harness for SEGA Naomi

Does either of your joystick controls work right? Pop off the clear guide plate and then you can rotate the PCB. You don't have to take the stick off. Standard orientation is that the 5-pin connector is pointing towards you. Your kick buttons are swapped? So normally it should be: 1 2 3 4 5 6 Yours ...

Re: Replacement JVS harness for SEGA Naomi

The JVS harness is likely fine. Buttons 4-6 will be on the 15-pin auxiliary / 'kick harness' connector. Can you show a picture of your control panel harnesses? As for the rotated joystick controls, do you use a Sanwa JLF? You can just rotate the PCB. Most harnesses are wired up so that the connector...

Re: NAC doorway tip/ how far to strip down

Yeah, the monitor isn't an issue. It's really easy to take out in an Astro. However, stubborn screws are indeed a ball ache. Arm yourself with JIS drivers as advised in the AO wiki guide.

Re: Arcade pcb prices of yesteryear

I remember when @redstallone was selling three Candy 18s for 800 euros. Not per cab, but for all three. That has forever ingrained in my memory as a thing I should have jumped on. I want to say that was still at the time of the KC forums.

Re: Arcade pcb prices of yesteryear

Is anyone still here that was involved with the Killercabs container orders? Those prices would interest me. I bought my first cabs from River Service in 2010, so pretty late. Astros were 20k New Astro, 30k Blast City, 50k Net City, 50k Versus City, 30k New Versus City, 60k Egret II, 50k Egret 3, 70...

Re: Arcade pcb prices of yesteryear

I have a Excellentcom price list from 2011 that also has Batrider for $98 and Bakraid for $118. The prices shot up fast in just a matter of years. As for older than that, a friend of mine found in an old Finnish videogame magazine a random article about buying arcade games in Japan. The magazine was...

Re: Another MS2931 struggle...

Yellow circle is the horizontal yoke connector (red and blue).
Green circle is the connector for the degaussing coil.
Blue is for AC, your power input.
Red is a ground post.

Pictured below, purple is for the vertical yoke connector (yellow & grey).

Re: Another MS2931 struggle...

Well spotted by PrincessPrinPrin . The tubes are compatible, the yokes are not (0.200mH vs. 0.300mH for a MS9). However, they're not that far off that it should result in any damage, so AFAIK you could test the tube with a MS9. If you get any kind of pic, your tube is fine. This said, I've never act...

Nem can a necked tube even produce an image?
I don't see how it could. So you're in the clear for that.

Re: Suddenly no video on a MS2930

The grease won't make a lick of difference. As long as your cap is hooked inside the hole, that should be enough. There's something wrong with your chassis. Also, when I killed my Blast tube there was a similar spark outside, near the yoke. When I connected a working chassis to it I had sparking ins...

Re: Another MS2931 struggle...

Sure, but your impedance readings are all over the place. Your resistance readings on the other hand are spot on. So I think your meter isn't really meant for reading yoke impedances. As for the tube, easiest would be to connect another, known to be working chassis to it. Or connect your existing ch...

Re: Another MS2931 struggle...

Right, I meant your impedance readings.

Anyway, your yoke is fine based on the resistance. I think your tube might be toast, sorry.

No, it should go in as far as the 'solder lock'. So that part should not be visible.

Is it wrong that I like the exotic looking Short Course all waterfalls and birds in Daytona USA 2: Battle on the Edge, more than the more traditional replacement in Power Edition? Wrong? You couldn't be more right! The biodome is gorgeous. I love it. Meanwhile the short course in PE is the most bor...

That's what I was thinking. Not only a ton of rare cabs and games, but everything looks so immaculate.
