Re: Data east recommeded games

Boogie Wings Edward Randy Night Slashers Nitro Ball are all pretty bad and I would much rather play Diet Go Go. Hoops '96 is amazing. Seriously underrated. You can have two 2-player games with one board: https://www.arcade-projects.com/forums/index.php?thread/13167-arcade-games-that-support-an-optio...

For cab connector end:

For button quick disconnects, .110" (2.8mm) is the correct size.

A repaired Air Gallet went for 400 euros on Arcade-Projects some months back. Some ICs were replaced, not a botch job.

Re: Astro City shadow near the letters

I had great results rejuvenating both of my MS8-29 Tosh tubes. I've probably put 2000 hours on them afterwards, they still look bright and vibrant. Ask around locally if anyone has a rejuvenator you could borrow. König is a German brand that manufactured a line of 'CRT Analyzers' that are common in ...

Re: Help with Blast City Control Panel

You can remove the pins with a paperclip. Jam the end of the clip above the pin into the connector housing. Then yank the clip and the pin at the same time, and the pin will come out. Then just insert the pin in the other connector, the pin will just lock in to place.

Re: Astro City shadow near the letters

I'm still sticking to it that it's a weak tube. You're overdriving the contrast to make up for it and that will result in the shadow.

Re: NNC fluorescent light replacement

Haha, when I looked now I found a 590mm T8 LED 110-240v tube with included "starter" locally! Should be perfect as a straight swap. Ordered it now, will post here with my results. Well, the starter won't work. It's going to be type that has two tabs at the end, not a screw-in. I just looked at the ...

Re: Help with Blast City Control Panel

See the white wire at the bottom left of the P1 and P2 connectors? Add that to your new harness and it will start working. Or even better, just use your original harness. It's OEM and most likely way better quality. Whoever made the harness that came with the panel is an idiot. That person most like...

Ahh, you're right. Negotiation price. Nevermind then.

Re: NNC fluorescent light replacement

It looks like you sourced a replacement multi voltage LED tube that fits in the original socket, correct? Yes, T8 G13. The tube I use is slightly longer. The correct size is 590mm, the tube I sourced is 600mm. It fits fine, it's a bit snug that's all. I replaced the starter with a fuse plugged in t...

Some 230V LED tubes will work, not all.

LED is absolutely the way to go. Flicker free, runs cool, you'll never have to replace it. There's no downsides to them.

Re: Help with Blast City Control Panel

You're missing the ground connection (pin 12, bottom left) on both 1P and 2P harnesses: https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/Sega_Blast_City_Wiring_Guide Did the harnesses come with the panel? Or did you buy them separately? Also, your kick harness won't work with Pandora as is. Pandora has all the button...

The transformer is the same size?
Yup. I've only ever seen SKOT ones in Sega cabs. Slightly different outputs, one 800W, the other 750W. Same physical dimensions. I have maybe 6-7 here, so not a massive sample size?

Re: Sega Naomi cabinet stepdown mounting size?

Well, since I have both UK and Japanese Lindbergh Universals, and Naomi Unis, this was easy to verify. The mounting points in the Lindbergh Universals are different. In the UK one the transformer sits on a wooden board that is mounted with two (?) M6 bolts (I only saw one, I expect there's another b...

Re: K7000 weird issues.

I suspect it's a bad joint, although I guess it could be the flyback too. I had one that had crazy focus issues when you lightly touched it. Anyway, undo the screw holding it in place (if there is one), press the flyback against the PCB, see if the pads lift. If you have a solder sucker, I would suc...

I think you'll be fine with 6 buttons plus start and coin.

Re: K7000 weird issues.

If hitting it gets it working, it has to be a solder joint issue. You possibly have a solder pad loose, separated from the trace.
