Re: Sega Astro City Mini

They could have fixed the screen by putting a larger 16:9 vertically. But no.

Re: Mini Cute Repro pre orders Europe

Since we're in Europe, we use European sizes. The correct size is 20". https://www.arcade-museum.com/manuals-monitors/Hantarex%20MTC9000%2014in%2016in%2020in%20Manual.pdf The problem with 17" is that you're going to have to make your own frame for it. If you think buyers won't be willing to scrounge...

Re: Mini Cute Repro pre orders Europe

17" is too small. The repro is designed for 20" screens. IMO grab a Hantarex MTC-9000 chassis from eBay and look on your local classifieds for 20" TVs for a donor tube. If you can handle a soldering iron, you can do it: https://forum.arcadeotaku.com/viewtopic.php?p=484955#p484955 Unfortunately, the ...

How annoying. I was prepared to send carts for updating, but not the whole system. I bet they could have made an USB dongle that updates the system.

Did you test lag for Vewlix Diamand Black monitor too?
Are you asking me?

No, unfortunately I only own Fs and Ls from the Vewlix line.

That's probably the PTC. It's normal that it gets very hot. It's not the PTC. In the last pic (20180209-183127.jpg) you can see the wiring for the degauss coil. The PTC is to the right of the degauss coil connector. The PTC does show up in the thermal image, but as green, not red. http://farm4.stat...

They use M2's lag measuring kit apparently.
It's also the same kit that they used to claim that AtB performs as well as Battle Garegga on a stock F. I'm sorry, but that makes me question the kit and / or whoever is using it.

Re: Recommended Cabinets to Minimize Input & Display Lag by EXA

Well, you can't know if the screen has been swapped.

Although this said, someone on Twitter did say something about additional lag compared to PCB. From our testing a stock Vewlix C / F adds one frame.

Re: Recommended Cabinets to Minimize Input & Display Lag by EXA

I wish they would include some actual lag measurements with these.

I just bought a regular consumer LG 32" computer monitor today. The bezel is small enough on it to throw it inside most cabs as is (without removing the casing). It's been confirmed to have 4ms of lag.

Re: Nanao MS-2930/31 tube compatibility

You can apparently pair up one with a MS9 as well. I've been meaning to try it but when I finally placed a huge order with JST, I forgot to order the vertical yoke connectors  This tube comes out of a 100HZ tv which implies the yoke supports up to 31Khz. I don't think these two things are rela...

Re: Arcade Monitor Glass cleaning item

Novus 1,2 or 3? Would it only remove scratches or clean it too? They're for removing scratches, although Novus 1 is hardly abrasive at all. I guess you could use it for cleaning as well. For general cleaning I just use plain old dish washing liquid, then water, then a microfiber cloth to remove the...

That sounds just like my Windy II, that thing was a mess inside and out. Were you able to salvage those MAS-25 cabs? Let's just say they're still on my to do list  Actually, in retrospect, those cabs I'm pretty happy with. Sure, the condition was way worse than I expected, but atleast they wer...

Re: WTB: SNK SC-25

I wish he'd just leave them "as-found" and pass them on to people to restore, rather than spray paint them poorly and hack up the wiring... It takes more work to undo his work than to just restore it from the get-go. What's sad is I actually told him not to rework any of the cabs he was selling me ...

He finds tons of really cool stuff. Too bad he **** ruins all of them. He just can't help himself **** up all of the original wiring, paintwork, marquees, locks, controls, etc. I'm not buying a single machine from him anymore, doesn't matter what the hell he unearths.

That's Yaton or a defector of his. Just so you know. Also, I can promise you he doesn't have all those cabs. Point is two of the B-boards are bootleg and three of the A-boards have been modified (look at the audio amps, the small ones are not stock). Hardware isn't all original, some of it is, some of it isn't. It's the usual hodgepodge of stuff from that certain Chinese seller.

Re: exA-Arcadia

It will also be interesting to see how well the hardware ages. PCBs seem to a lot more durable than PCs. Well, I woudn't necessarily say that. I have tons of old computers that work just fine. Luck of the draw with these things. If the manufacturers of the hardware (motherboard, GPU, PSU) didn't ch...
