Re: WTB Airlink step down conversion for NAC

Power consumption on jamma games is miniscule:

https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/PCB_Power_Consumption

I would be surprised if a Naomi 2 is much more than a standard Naomi. Naomi hardware is very power efficient (the Dreamcast was rated at 27W).

@Zaarock just cleared the game with 30+ billion.

I heard there's an unlisted Youtube video of the run if you ask him nicely for it ;)

Re: Step-down for cab

A surge limiter is somewhat redundant because your cab has fuses everywhere. I've never had the limiter go off.

Re: Super Nintardbros!

Please update your opinion if it does pick up though. I played through Hotel Dusk somewhat recently. I like adventure games, but the game felt like a slog. It never picks up. Originally I had thought I would play it and Last Window back to back. Nope. Had my share of it, thanks. Ghost Trick took me...

A 500W transformer will easily power two NACs.

Re: Loud sound makes distortions

Grounding issue or interference perhaps?

Do you have continuity between all grounds (common ground, video ground, audio ground)? Personally, I follow the jamma spec and keep all three separate.

Are your speaker cables running beside the video wiring? You could try physically separating them.

She's in the cockpit of a spaceship. It makes perfect sense that only her upper torso is protected from opposing space craft death rays.

Yeah, you can do that. The only difficult part is getting geometry and convergence spot on with the new yoke.

Re: exA-Arcadia

It feels like I'm fighting windmills with you guys :problem: I can fully understand you're super busy, Rocco, but since you're building what is going to be the mecca for any shmup fan in Europe, please, just send a message to Tanoshimasu that input lag matters. As for everyone else, naturally lag ma...

@Rocco, your players will also be affected by this, can you do the same, please?

The original cap on the board will have much lower impedance. Don't replace it with the small one.

Sending complaints to us about a game we did not develop is equal to complaining to Microsoft about the lag in a Cave port.
If Microsoft said a Cave port had two frames of lag on their hardware, then yes, I have a reason to complain to them.

Re: exA-Arcadia

The thing is, we're not seeing two frames. We're seeing four. According to Shou A&B should be 3-4 frames on a Vewlix F, we have it showing 6 on a cab that should be identical. We have ruled out everything on our side, we've connected it to a CRT and tried four different model JVS IOs, one of which i...

M2 is an exa partner 🤞

As per Shou's post here, exA uses M2's setup for benchmarking. That could be the extent of their partnership.

Re: exA-Arcadia

Cabinet monitors, JVS IO boards and each individual game play a factor in the end experience. Optimizing for each piece will give the best experience. We benchmark on every major modern Japanese cabinet type using M2’s lag calculating setup and will not ship a game that is beyond 4 frames of lag. O...

Re: Items spotted on eBay

Yes and no, there's still bugs in the conversion which result in graphics issues. It should be more or less playable though.

Anyway, the port was the work of a person that's been banned on several forums (including this one) for scamming people, and he exited the scene. Good riddance.
