Re: Help with AV7000 controller build

Sorted now. Ground needed to be sent to the 13pin Din shielding, and +5v is only used for the auto fire circuit (which I’m not using) ;)

Now to wire the second stick up :D

Help with AV7000 controller build

Hi, I have an AV7000 supergun with a faulty 9000tb joystick, so I’ve decided to use a couple of old Madcatz T.E. sticks with it instead. I have located the pin out for the 13pin din connector of the AV7000, and while it has pins for every direction and 6 buttons, it has no ground? It has a +5v pin (...

Re: Are you a feeder?

I only credit feed occasionally to see the later levels like most here. On some games I play, like Pang! If you have to add a credit you lose your score so that ends the game for me as I play to beat myself! :)

Re: Most Memorable Arcade Music

That Mystic Warriors music sounds like it could have been in one of the old breakdance films! (Please tell me I'm not the only one here who watched those a LOT when I was a kid :P ) For me it was always SFII like a lot of others here. Although I did buy Rodland purely for the catchy jingly music tha...

Re: CPS3 No CD pcbs

You can use one of Darksofts super bios carts to rewrite 3S back to the Simms for a no CD version cart. Or alternatively use a second set of Simms if you can lay your hands on some to preserve the ones you have ;)

Re: Items spotted on eBay

Anyone have any feedback on Yaton? I just missed an Astro City Fiberglass upper I've been after for some time and I'm trying to find out if he's got more. He's usually got several of these listed each month, if you can't get hold of him just keep an eye on his listings and one is sure to pop up soo...

Re: Naomi Earth Points in base

Yes A goes into the leg. I don't think it matters which earth connects to where, so long as all of the various points are earthed to something (if that makes sense) What I mean to say is, I've had Naomis in the past that have most of the earths connected to the top of the transformer, and spare hole...

Re: Sega Naomi Universal / Net City Experts

The rear back cover is also different on a Naomi uni (UK version at least) to a Japanese NNC. It has screw fixings from the top, so lays differently on the base (at the back side of the machine...if that makes sense) the stepped base in the pic you posted was present on some UK Naomis, and as far as...

Re: CPS3 motherboard graphics issues

The RAMs are part of the mainboard, if the test list them as bad, they must be indeed bad. The board uses a X/Y mapping to label chips. The RAMs related to graphics are: 1D, 2D, 3D, 4D and 5D. 8E and 9E seem to be related to palette (colors). 15J is the CPU work RAM. Broken traces (corrosion) or br...

CPS3 motherboard graphics issues

Hi, I have some CPS3 motherboards that have graphics issues and wonder if anyone can help :( I've tested my faulty boards, and this time I've made notes so that I don't forget what the issues are! So, the boards test as follows: 2 x have completely corrupt graphics, and won't let me enter the test m...
