Re: Daytona series article help?

Need some AO stickers to slap on places for photos? I always want stickers anyway mate! :D But yeah - if it is fitting and useful to the reader I'll give a nod to AO in the piece, as this place is a wonderful resource (I did that way back in a Guardian piece by somebody else that I offered some hel...

Daytona series article help?

Hello. It's been literal years since I last posted on AO, so I'm feeling rather meek I've come back with a work request! But here goes... I'm writing an article for The Guardian about the Daytona series, focusing on the arcade releases, and partially inspired by the fact the new game is selling more...

BBC Track and Field request question!

Bit of a strange one here. I once or twice spoke on BBC Radio 5 about games, and mentioned arcades. Now whenever the BBC need to cover arcades I get a call! This time they asked me if I could find a high end Track and Field player to meet them at the new National Videogames Arcade in Nottingham wher...

Re: What's it worth?

I want to charge a fair price for a CPS2 A-board. Green region, if that makes a difference. What should I ask for?

Re: Non-rotating stick shafts (disability mod) EDIT: It work

Thanks all, though I just connected people. Possibly something for a separate thread here, but all the above demonstrates something that struck me when I visited Special Effect to write an article about them. As I toured their property, I was taken into their store room; a place brimming with tools,...

Re: Non-rotating stick shafts (disability/charity mod)

Well - time for a lovely update on this. Michael - the chap who had the serious motorbike accident, suffered a brain injury and found himself no longer able to enjoying gaming (see OP) is back on it now, thanks to you guys in this thread, and the work of the charity Special Effect. Particular shout ...

Re: Non-rotating stick shafts (disability/charity mod)

I'm sure I have a couple of old ones kicking around, if you PM me your address I'll send you them. They are old and beat up, but it would at least give you some idea what they are like. Amazing mate! I'll drop you a PM. Might ask for you to send it straight to Special Effect, but I'll cover shippin...

Re: Non-rotating stick shafts (disability/charity mod)

To be honest, even a cheap woody stick would amply suffice. Obviously build quality means it lasts, but I think anything would do for a starter.

And I'll look into Suzos - thanks!

Non-rotating stick shafts (disability mod) EDIT: It worked!

I'm lucky enough to know the team from the wonderful gaming charity SpecialEffect. They help bring gaming (back) into the lives of those with disabilities and those who've had significant accidents. It's all about the right to have fun and escape, letting people enjoy time with – and be on a level p...

Re: What's it worth?

I've a couple of invoice payments heading my way, which I should put into a savings account. But I don't have a savings account, so....

If I ever find one, how much should I pay for an Air Assault (Irem) PCB?

Thanks.

EDIT: Or I'll take Fire Barrel, as it's the same game.

Re: BBC interest in UK arcades/HoG

Arcade goers are too distracted by the games to pay any mind to cultural differences. I tend to agree with sentiment too. As I touched on in my first post, I go to arcades to play games, talk games, and have a laugh, and while it is a culturally diverse social circle to a degree, that's not somethi...

BBC interest in UK arcades/HoG

I've been talking to a chap from the BBC - a very nice guy who I've had a couple professional dealings with before and seems a top chap. And he's looking to do a piece on HoG, and – the reason I'm posting really – is currently looking for some insight/input on the idea that arcades are a place of cu...

I heard the same about this game over on shmups.

Sadly as I live in a poxy London shoebox flat, no arcade cab for me right now! Space is tight!

That's why I got a PVM - to have that functionality. Sadly the maximum I can pull it in ain't quite enough!

Thanks for the tips!

Drift Out 94 woes

My Drift Out 94 PCB seems to work just fine, except that on a couple of different monitors (a PVM and a standard scart tube telly; the latter of which typically likes games that don't agree with my PVM) the image is about an inch off screen to the left. I'm running it through and RGB scart supergun....

How much should I pay for an empty CPS2 B board (game) casing? A green/Japan one, as it happens.
