Is that tool actually turning the trimmer? Judging by the pic I would say it's unsuitable.

Wires for vertical yoke are in bad condition.
Do you think that's the issue? How can I fix them.
Not the current issue but soon you'll have that too.

Adjust the trimmer for horizontal hold. It's one of the many along the edge of the main chassis.

Re: 29" NANAO 2931 Tube Heater Short - What Happened?

If the anode voltage rises high enough to damage the CRT it means that the x-ray protection is not doing its job so the mosfet Q701 keeps driving the flyback when it shouldn't. The small module (U701) receives the x-ray protection voltage from the flyback (pin 10) and if this is detected as excessiv...

Re: PVM 2130QM flyback

What's the issue with this monitor? Are you sure it's the flyback and not something else?

Anyway I would do it like this. The first time I would disconnect the 200V wire from the neckboard to see if the voltage is correct:

Re: PVM 2130QM flyback

The G2 voltage on this monitor is not EHT-derived. The source is the HOT collector which is about 1000Vpp. This voltage is rectified to DC and the 1000VDC is sent to the neckboard where you have the adjusting pot. Pretty much all Sony displays of that time including TVs were like that. As for the pi...

Re: PVM 2130QM flyback

You are right. There are only two wires coming out of the flyback. This visual shows where the white wire becomes red with some sleeve covering the joint: https://www.donberg-electronics.com/pics/h/hr_6415.jpg (it also shows the empty hole for thwe G2 wire) The pinout of the HR doesn't completely ma...

Re: PVM 2130QM flyback

The upper pot must be focus and I think that was present on the original flyback too. The lower one looks just an empty hole to me. The question is why does it have a third wire when you only expect two? Check resistance across the black and white wires with a meter that supports at least 200Mohm.

All the ones I've seen are Nanao MS8-18.

Never heard of the ones above.
They are early 80s monitors often found in Sega dedicated cabs (Out Run, etc.).

Re: selling Mini Cute Original 2950€ On hold

What is the monitor in the cab being sold here? I've seen at least 3 nanao combos in cute cabs over the last 3 years. I know a lot use sanwa, but the picture on the nanao always looked nicer to me. The chassis is from either a MC2000S (20") or the smaller MC1600S (16") or MC1400S (14"). A MC1800S (...

The monitor is much older than the cab so it's not the original one.

Re: 25" NOS monitor 15khz

The automatic 15-25KHz model is the Pico 110 multi-impedance. The vertical module for automatic frequency switching uses four ICs of the 74HC family. Please let me know which of these super common ICs is "out of stock" https://i.imgur.com/EYkwWx6.jpg https://i.imgur.com/TU07BmR.jpg https://i.i...

Re: 25" NOS monitor 15khz

Semio and Monitor Electronic Systems are the same thing. The latter is the name they used for their arcade monitor business. The old Hantarex was owned by the Meoni family and Luciano Meoni was the CEO of Semio S.p.A. after Hantarex went bankrupt. https://ricerca.gelocal.it/iltirreno/archivio/iltirr...

Re: MS9-29T component identification

Size and lead spacing are also parameters to take into account. For C504 and C505 lead spacing is 20mm, for C506 it can be either 15mm or 20mm. If you get the boxy non-Japanese types, lead spacing needs to be exact as they have pretty short leads. Your first link is 25.4mm but if the leads are long ...
