numan athletics and mach breakers are futuristic track and field games that are quick to pick up and really good competitive play any of the bubble bobble games as mentioned and i would also point out rainbow islands and the new zealand story though they are alternating turns so can be a bit boring ...

the first time i seen them i looked into where they were produced and it seemed to be france (couldn't state a specific region) but i can't remember if i found a statement by someone else or if it was my conjecture based on where they were majorly appearing.
