Re: Toshiba LR27012 Zapping - I want to live again!

Thanks everyone.

I will take it apart and discharge once the kiddies leave.

Can you explain what direct HT to earth means?

Thanks.

Toshiba LR27012 Zapping - I want to live again!

So this is Christmas, and what have you done? Well I spent a few days getting my Astro City in perfect working order which included updating MAME, creating custom game lists and removing unsuitable games for kids. I thought I would introduce them all to some fun and simple games. Success! One final ...

Re: Vewlix Screen Replacement - Best option?

This requires a bit of investigation. - What Chinese model are you looking at? - Are there manuals? Are the manuals in English? - Are the mounting points and dimensions of the original monitor in the manual? -- If not can you contact the manufacturer and ask? - Have fun searching for a similar 1080p...

Re: Naomi hardware in Astro City

All the components are usually mounted onto a piece of MDF that can slide in and out of the astro city.

Sega Naomi PSU Amp Load

I'm in the planning stage of building a consolized Naomi. I am wondering what the Max load amperage is for the various voltages required. I've just found a PSU that I need to verify will meet the requirements of running the NAOMI and netDIMM. This device is tiny and I should be able to build it into...

Re: GroovyMAME/UME for dummies

Over the weekend I grabbed two HDD's and installed Win7 and WinXP. I used super resolutions in Win7 and had to change the resolution to "1600x..." for FightCade to work in full screen arcade resolution mode. Of course GroovyMAME worked flawlessly on both setups. However FightCade appeared crisper in...

Re: GroovyMAME/UME for dummies

FightCade isn't MAME, anything not built for these non standard sizes is unlikely to work well. You can use super and normal at the same time, its just a matter of configuration. Absolutely. My XP x64 box I brought up tonight with your instructions is working with FightCade except it wants 224 reso...

Re: GroovyMAME/UME for dummies

Thanks @cools. A few months ago I had issues with Super Resolutions on FightCade on Win7 in a 15kHz machine. I have a little more knowledge now so I'm going to try again. Your post has helped me decide if I should try Magic Resolutions a go on XP or not.

Re: Need Advice: what can I do with a Ringedge (no security chip)

Read this thread http://forum.arcadeotaku.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=31736 then speak to @andygeezer about what you may have to pay for a game and chip. What game do you want to play on the system? Virtual Tennis 4 you can pick up on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and Windows. Looks like it would be a pretty low ...

Re: GroovyMAME/UME for dummies

Just rebuilt one XP machine with Windows 7 to see how difficult it was. Answer: not very. Hi Cools, After doing the rebuild what do you think the better setup is? XP - Magic Resolution or Win7 Super Resolution? Are the stretching of the horizontal axis and shimmering in horizontal scrollers an issu...

Xbox 360 PAL or NTSC for 31kHz monitor?

I'm looking at purchasing an XBox 360 for my Atomiswave SD cabinet. Should I be looking for a PAL or NTSC unit? Do the PAL XBox 360's give you 720x576 @50Hz (576p)? (this is what the PAL PS3's give you.) My monitor is a SAMSUNG A68QCP891X00 with a Wei-Ya chassis Model M3129D01-7. 640x480 and 720x576...

Re: PS3 to 31kHz Monitor sync issue?

@invzim what was your experience with the PS3/Wii VGA adapter? I just played around with the settings tonight and selected Component / D-Terminal -> Selected 480p And it looks a lot better. Still have two white bars up the top but its clear, I wouldn't say crisp though. I also connected a PAL-AUS an...

Re: PS3 to 31kHz Monitor sync issue?

I did find this YPbPr Component Video to VGA Converter LKV7600 for PS3 Xbox360 Wii HDBox. Can I just use the cable I have for the VGA in? If that is a no I assume I have to buy a PS3 component cable. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/O3T-YPbPr-Component-Video-to-VGA-Converter-LKV7600-for-PS3-Xbox360-Wi...

CPS2 A Board Graphic Problem

Upon putting everything back together and testing my games I had graphic glitches. In The test color menu setup white and green had lines and ...

Re: Sega RingEdge Software Backup

Thanks for letting me know. I have a habit of backing up all optical media but I won't worry in the case of RingEdge then. Yeah I seen the cards/hardware for WCCF. Looks like fun but something I'll never play. Are they keychips for each game, or can you buy a ringedge unit that has a keychip included?
