Tech: Using Toshiba Pure Flat Chassis (D29C051) with Sanwa PFX Trisync Tube
Hey everyone- I was able to pick up two Toshiba Pure Flat Tri Sync chassis recently, both supposedly in working condition. I currently own two Sanwa PFX monitors (Namco USA stock). One of the two has a color purity issue, and I am hoping to use the Toshiba Pure Flat chassis instead. My friend sent m...

Blast City Mono Audio Amp Problem
Hey everyone- Does anybody know why the mono section of my Blast City audio amplifier dies so easily? I had the original amp die about 6 months ago, I figured it was due to old age. I swapped it out with an identical model 3 replacement and all was good. Last week, out of no where, the mono audio wa...

Re: Capcom Status 25
That looks to be a "coin lockout solenoid". They engage and physically block more coins from being added when a jam is detected. You can run the machine without one for sure.

Re: 3D printed CPS 2 Volume Up Down Test buttons
Funny you mention the hacker spaces...my good friend runs the Hartford Connecticut maker space. Which reminds me... I moved and didn't update my info. I'm in Boston now. Anyways... I basically just need someone I can give the piece to and have it taken care of. I'll ask around, that's a really good ...

3D printed CPS 2 Volume Up Down Test buttons
Hi everyone! Has anybody created a 3D printed cps2 volume button cluster yet? I just broke my volume down button yesterday... Pain in my butt! Would be really cool to see these for sale, or available on a site like shapeways.com ready to print. Any out there? Or anyone looking for something to do wi...

Re: Faulty Sanwa PM1755C PFX-46T
-update- I concluded the HOT was bad on the chassis, since I had horizontal frame collapse. I sourced an NTE replacement from a local supplier, slightly higher on amps. I installed the HOT, no difference regarding the frame collapse. Gave up on trying to fix it and decided to send it to Allgood USA ...

Sanwa PFX - static noise in 15hz
Hi everyone- I recently installed one of my PFX monitors into my Astro 2 cabinet. In 15hz mode, there is some static noise over the raster. There is like a wave-like pattern that is faint, but pretty darn annoying. Its more noticable on some pcb's than it is others. Now, I have another PFX installed...

Faulty Sanwa PM1755C PFX-46T
My Sanwa PFX is experiencing what appears to be horizontal frame collapse - all I am receiving is a thin beam of light down the center of the monitor. While testing a faulty pcb the monitor squealed while trying to sync to the signal and all I got was garbage on the screen. A few moments later "pict...

Re: Boot or Original : Post original/bootleg PCB photos here
There's lots of speculation going on regarding the Progear USA version, as well as how CPS2 boards function. Let me clear a few things up. First off, that Blue Progear is 1000% original Capcom. I know this for fact as I had one (part of a full kit) with hand-written eprom labels. Towards the end of ...

Re: Bubble Bobble - Screwed Graphics
I have a co-worker w/ a Bubble Bobble cabinet exhibiting the same exact fault! His cab has original Bubble Bobble wiring unfortunately rather than a jamma adapter. It also has an ANCIENT power supply. I'm suspecting the PSU is the problem, however I can't take the PCB back to my cabs and test as I d...

Re: CPS3 3rd Strike version A downgrade
Finally got back my repaired 3S cart today, tried to downgrade my version, after I select the "rewrite" option there's a screen saying "rewriting, don't turn it off / loading data" for a second but than it just keeps on jumping back to the "checking disc" screen. :wtf: Anybody had the same issue? F...

Re: CPS3 Loading Issue
When the CPS3 loads a game and freezes, one of three things is going on.
*Bad CD
*Bad CD Drive
*Bad memory simm
9 outa 10 times I fixed the issue by changing the simms.

Re: Regarding your collections
Yeah my collection is pretty much always in a changing state lol I keep a few "cornerstone" games but the rest I swap out on a pretty regular basis. When I get bored with a game I don't even think twice about selling... especially if there's something expensive I'm after. My philosophy when it comes...

Re: System 246 extra buttons
Blinking LED = voltage problem. Measure your voltages with the 246 running.
As for Fighting Jam, this was actually intended to be used with the Capcom I/O. Any JVS I/O that supports 6 buttons will work fine, but Capcom intended you use their hardware (according to the manual).

Re: What makes your candy cabs awesome?
Bump! OH yeah, completely forgot I promised a tutorial on the install :D I'm actually still finalizing my install... the monitor fit in just fine with some minor modifications to the frame and monitor wiring. I actually backmounted it about 1/2" too much, so I need to revisit it. All in all it look...

Re: Your first arcade game played/or the one that got you hooked
My first arcade experiences for me are mostly fuzzy memories. Growing up I had a mini-golf with a nice gameroom pretty close to home. We went there at least 5 times a year. From what I can remember, this is what stands out the most from my childhood World Heroes 2... specifically the magician dude w...

Re: Getting rid of tar and nicotine
What I generally do is discharge the tube and remove the chassis. For the chassis, I remove all the mounting components so its just a bare PCB, and clean it in the sink with my sprayer (just like a game PCB). For the tube, I brush off what I can with a paint brush, and finish up using a light cleane...

Re: Syncing problem on my replacement Nanao Monitor...
Ah, so just a case of swapping the jumper to the connection next to it? That will be 15khz then? Should that sort it? :) Thanks bud. Yes, if the monitor came form a model 3 cabinet, then the video was set for 24khz. You need to simply move the 24khz jumper harness to the pin-header directly...

Re: ZOMG!!!! Sanwa PFX Service Menu!
WOW! Thanks to neokoen, I was able to guess and figure out how to access the PFX's service menu
Hold degauss while booting (4th button on the remote board)
While holding degauss, enter the adjustment menu
ENJOY

Did the service menu look something like this
I'm opening a new thread with how to access it, so it doesn't get lost in this one.
