I see you are on a testing rampage UT :D

What happens if you test your 18 Wheeler with a EPR-23608C BIOS which is what the multi BIOS is based on ?

Re: Bubble Memories NVRAM File From MAME

TLB? I can get to like stage 10 on this **** of a game. Fun though. Yes Bubble Bobble which is the precursor to Bubble Memories was one of the first games to feature a TLB. After decoding the secret message in the rooms you enter the 2'nd loop and then you must have a friend to play Super Drunk :D

Re: Bubble Memories NVRAM File From MAME

Is it saved once you enter the code for super mode on the title screen? My cart has extra mode enabled too. I wonder if a factory reset will change it back to normal until the code is entered again. SUPER MODE left, start, bubble, jump, up, down, start, right You get the second set of levels when t...

Bubble Memories NVRAM File From MAME

This might sound a bit odd but bear with me :D I'm trying to find out what activates the EXTRA MODE in Bubble Memories. EXTRA MODE is a permanent setting in EEPROM/NVRAM which will allow the player to select between NORMAL MODE / SUPER MODE after the easy/hard selection screen. When EXTRA MODE is ac...

Re: Espgaluda, no sound

rtw, only static comes out from the cab speakers when I connect the headphone cables, one to pin 1 and the other to pin 2. Nothing from the headphones. I don't think I can try anything else as I don't have access to a scope. Repair shop, it is! @Animaitor, fingers crossed that the repair shop can s...

Re: Espgaluda, no sound

@trmatthe, I agree even if sound is discovered going into the amplifier more knowledge is needed to get it to work. Send it to your favourite repair guy.

@emphatic, pin 1 is signal and pin 2 is ground according to the data sheet.

Re: Espgaluda, no sound

What is the voltage on your PCB ? Measure while the PCB is powered 5V & 12V

As for lack of scope, if you have a broken headphone try splitting the wires and connecting them to pin 1 & 2 on the AMP.

Re: Espgaluda, no sound

What I don't get is why the PCB does not enter setup ? Which test switch are you using ? The brown one is to reset NVRAM, the silver/black marked SW2 should enter setup IIRC. As for sound, stick a scope on pin 1 (closest to JAMMA connector) on the amplifier at location U3 and see if there is any act...

Re: Soul Calibur II SYS246 Region Differences

I was messing around with a Mr Driller for SYSTEM12 tonight. The version shown in the test setup is DRI3/VER.A2 There is a warning about "suitable for all ages" and the all depths are measured in feet. Providing that NAMCO did not change regions between SYS12 and SYS246 I would say this is one more ...

TS - Terminal Server

DONGLE: SC31002-NA-A

Re: Soul Calibur II SYS246 Region Differences

Amended my post above, since I've realised that whereas my dongle SC3100 2 -NA-A, the one in MAME is SC3100 1 -NA-A. So I think that confirms which digit represents the region. IDC could you please tell me what your setup screen shows with the dongle marked SC31002-NA-A, my SC31001-NA-A shows the f...

Re: Soul Calibur II SYS246 Region Differences

On the subject of change in labels. I never fully broke down the meaning but at some point namco changed to a different setup for labels. If a region 2 or 3 of SC3 exist it would probably be SC31002-NA-A since the first 3 numbers after SC3 is version info. Never fully figured out what NA means but ...

Re: Soul Calibur II SYS246 Region Differences

I'm not fully sure on the numbering but I kind of took 2 & 3 to be USA & Europe but they could be swapped. There is no known 4 in Sys246 games (trust me, I have a lot of them). I was taking the region 4 from Soul Calibur, you are of course right there is no region 4 on sys24X at all (post updated t...

Re: Soul Calibur II SYS246 Region Differences

Had a look at some of the NAMCO games in MAME this seems to be the norm:

1 - Japan (Region warning)
2 - World ?
3 - USA (Animated Violence Warning)

edit: removed region which is not on sys24X.

Thank you for the information IDC, much appreciated :D

On a sidenote, I just saw an auction for SCII & TEKKEN 4 on eBay, both items located in USA and both were region 3!

Soul Calibur II SYS246 Region Differences

Is anyone aware of any regional difference in Soul Calibur II on SYS246 ?

i.e. is the Japanese version harder than the English one ?

And can someone explain what the different regions mean ?

SC21A - Japan
SC22A - English (Asia ?)
SC23A - ???

Re: CAVE SH3 PCB Schematics/Lead on CAVE Repairman

I think it will not be difficult to make some tests of the FPGA without need to remove if from the PCB, is only necessary to find the JTAG signals and a cheap ByteBlaster for connect it to a PC thru Quartus II, SignalTap. If you look here: http://www.world-of-arcades.net/Cave/Hardware_SH3/Hardware....
