Re: Blast City Service door lock stuck

Nice. Glad you got it opened up. For the noise I suspect it is the PSU fan (like @nem said) and if you haven’t yet done it, I would take it out and clean the thing thoroughly, recap it, and you can also swap the fan with a new one. With a new fan the thing will be super quiet.

Re: Blast City Service door lock stuck

1) Are you sure you have the right key? If the whole lock is loose you can think it is unlocking but it is just twisting the whole mech. 2) Sometime you need to push the door in so the metal tang can move without tension, but may take a decent amount of force. 3) You may have to drill it out, worst ...

Re: Mikado Game Center Europe

Looks amazing @Rocco, great work on getting everything in there and all fixed up. Can't wait to see this place hopping with people once open. Trying to plan a trip late this year to swing by and check it out!

Btw, if you have an extra Aero Table let me know... been looking for one with no luck.

Re: Blast City No Sound

Was going to suggest testing other speakers out of the Jamma connector, but if the that worked with the PSU even better.

What's a nice clean working Battletoads worth these days? Prices over the years have been all over the show.
I would say solid price is around $450-500 for a clean board.

Re: Capacitor trace pealing off PCB

Hi...I cannot recall my solder station brand but is a good quality hot air and desolder station. I believe I was running at 380C. It is a small trace but was still fighting to get enough heat in the trace, but I don't think increasing temp would have worked. It seemed the solder just did not want t...

I just had my MS-2931 go dark too. Sucks. No next glow on mine.

Have you recapped the chassis? Also which flyback did you swap in? At least you have neck glow.

Re: Blast City Marquee Light Ficture

Think I found my answer:
  • Starter: FG-1E starter bulb for your Sega Net City or Blast City cabinet
  • Tube: F20T10 or F20T12 fluorescent tube(T12 is easier to find in the USA)

Capacitor trace pealing off PCB

Connections are still solid so things work, but need to tack the trace down so the capacitor stays in place and doesn't cause more damage. Any recommendations on keeping the trace from pealing more of causing additional damage?
