Re: exA-Arcadia

For any of you concerned about input lag, several developers have explained their process on cutting down input lag: https://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?p=1403608#p1403608 One developer behind "Gimmick! Exact-Mix!" discovered that major source comes from the JVS IO boards, with polling and buf...

Re: exA-Arcadia

That is one of those great news for all cave fans everywhere. One of those "bigger niche" companies. I heard that the coronavirus has hit the world hard, and looks like physical events have scaled back, including the "spring festival". Looks like we won't have physical events until the pandemic slow...

A Ghouls N’ Ghosts like on exa .Available on Nintendo switch :shifty: https://exa.ac/en/games/super-battle-princess-madelyn-temp-title/?v=0f177369a3b7 Arcade versions sometimes have to cut or "trade" content from other versions, either ones that don't fit with core mechanic, pacing is too slow, or ...

Re: exA-Arcadia

I can relate to you in the same way on wanting arcade games to be more available globally. I tried getting various operators within my home area, SF/East Bay and Santa Clara County, to invest in Exa Arcadia. However, not many seem to be interested in getting kits only since they have to provide addi...

Jitsu Squad Kickstarter

Discovered that a game studio is making a 4 player beat-em-up game for various home consoles and PC, with Switch being a stretch goal. This one seems to be Japanese mythology inspired, including yokai. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jitsusquad/jitsusquad Also, one of the highest tier offers is...

Re: exA-Arcadia

Quite tragic that we have a new system but there’s mainly talk about who screws over who, regardless who’s right. Leave the drama to shmups is what I say, but then I've been accused of being an Exa shill as well so watch yourselves. I am glad that I am not alone in being accused as a shill.. I too ...

Re: exA-Arcadia

I did read through all perspectives about the Dangen issue, plus spoke with the developer of Devil Engine behind those gossips and rumors; somehow, that unfortunate incident has been most likely a one-off issue from creative differences. I always do take those perspectives with a grain of salt, mean...

The only thing that’s exclusive is the name and the pricetag https://store.steampowered.com/app/450950/Danmaku_Unlimited_3/ Like the cave games on steam ;) Akyrios It’s the arcade version but I noticed some differences.i’ll explain later. ;) I quickly analyzed some obvious differences from gameplay...

Re: exA-Arcadia

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo on CPS2 has a 4 frame delay between button press and action startup. It’s consistent and it’s by design. I feel in these cases that calling this input lag is a bit misleading. I always thought of it as a comparative term when measuring latency brought by an additional l...

Re: exA-Arcadia

I like to thank Shou for giving out technical details about the input lag process. That really helps clear things up about some quality standards about the games developed for the Exa Arcadia platform. Additionally, we receive all new information that we have not known about before. honestly guys.. ...

Arcade Hero, with their arcade Arcade Galactic, has uploaded some camera footage of another player trying stage 1, and it is "super hard". https://www.hasntfiguredouthowtoembedyoutubeproperly.com/watch?v=oDFh-Z4TlvQ Also, had a weird dream that from the how to play video, featuring two ships being c...

Good news from shou 8-) Akyrios will be shipped the next week :D a poster will be included in the kit 8-) and psyvariar will likely release the end of March ;) I also remember from Arcade Heroes, through a different discord server, that Infinos EXA would be shipped around this month. Re: exA-Arcadia

I do presume that the input lag many are talking about is 60 frames per second, correct? How much does the average player, not usually the technical hardcore player, can not notice lag until it is there? Speaking about Unity, it does seem that there are some ways that users can try to minimize the i...

Re: exA-Arcadia

Auto Quit? This is a very smart move on the developers so that less time is wasted on stand-still in arcades of course. The only thing missing is allowing the player to manually quit, meaning no high score entry and instant game over. Can use existing player start button and hold for about 5 second...

Re: exA-Arcadia

Really wondering what Aka looks like on a horizontal setup. Does it do anything cool like psyvariar where the screen is filled with extra data and fully utilized? Or does it not take advantage of the extra space and just have black bars or static bezel type art? Anyone with the game already should ...

@Shou

I wonder how games are going to be selected with 2 or more cartridges inserted?

We know there is a game select menu. However, how can we access the game select
menu?

Do you plan to have an optional button for game select like Neo Geo?

Re: exA-Arcadia
