Re: [TUTO] Save or répair Deathsmiles 2 Arcade PC-PCB

Well, that and I also had to replace the motherboard and PSU on one of them as well, but now they both work. Pretty much everything then. Well the CPU, RAM, CF card, CF reader were all working fine. Well the most important part is the Black Cave case and the I/O board, as those are custom. Ev...

Re: [TUTO] Save or répair Deathsmiles 2 Arcade PC-PCB

It's actually the combination of the 2, you need the correct I/O board and USB dongle to match it in order for it to run. I believe the USB dongle is keyed to only work with a specific I/O board. I have 2 DSII Cave PCs and replacing the IDE cables fixed the issues with reading the CF cards. Not sure...

Re: Cave 68000 and Toaplan version 2 hardware

I've got DonPachi, DoDonPachi, Guwange, and Dangun Feveron, I could get measurements. Should note that my DonPachi is the development version (1st version PCB), I'm not sure if the dimensions are exactly the same as the 2nd version (which is what 99.9% of people have).

Re: Jamma sound amp vs power supply amp

Ok, so the only amp involved is the one on the PCB. I guess my question still remains though, does it put extra stress on the amp of the PCB if I dial it way up and then reduce the volume using the pot on the PSU? Should I just turn the PSU pot to max volume and only use the PCB to dial in the level...

Jamma sound amp vs power supply amp

This might be a dumb question or might not even matter but is it "better" to use the onboard sound amp of a PCB or the one on my PSU. I have a New Astro City cabinet with a power supply that looks like this: https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/images/0/09/400-5198-01.jpg IS there a benefit to keeping the P...

Re: Capturing JAMMA video and audio from New Astro City

My line out converter has 3 inputs, speaker+, speaker-, and ground. Do these correspond to the same pins of the JAMMA standard? Do I need to wire up all 3 of these from the JAMMA harness to the converter, or just speaker+ and ground? Do I need to wire up Speaker- at all? Which one of these would be ...

Capturing JAMMA video and audio from New Astro City

Posted this over on shmups but figured I'd put it here too. Any advice for capturing audio off a JAMMA board running in my cab? It looks like a need a line-out converter to convert the audio level to a pre-amp level (I have one of these: https://www.amazon.com/PAC-SNI-35-Varia ... B001EAWS3W) is nee...

Long term that would be my plan but right now I'm pretty strapped for space so it's not really an option at this time.

Is a tri-sync cab out of the question, Peg?

You'll need it if you're going to buy the CAVE releases on Exa Arcadia.

Chances are looking slim for an official EXA downscaler :(

Any thoughts on using the ultracade uvc with death smiles ii? Looks like a simpler solution than using the mimo genius ii assuming I can find one.

Re: Deathsmiles II and JVS to Jamma

Yeah I figured it would be something like that. Is there any adapter that can convert 31k->15k or any other options besides just plugging it into a separate monitor that accepts VGA? Thanks again!

Deathsmiles II and JVS to Jamma

Hi, I have a working Deathsmiles II Cave PC and I'm trying to figure out how to connect it to my New Astro City. Now I understand that DSII is JVS, which the cab does not support and I've never had a use for until now. It did come with a JVS-Jamma adapter which is a Sega 838-13683-93, it looks like ...

Ketsui for me. That was the pinnacle for both art direction and gameplay for Cave. Gotta love those weird little helicopter ships and lock on mechanics.

Re: FS - Repro Marquee Holders (Vewlix, Astro City, Egret, AWSD, Naomi Universal, (New) Net City)

Hey,
I'm interested in a marquee holder for my New Astro City. Do they require any tape to hold the marquee in or do you just screw it together?

Thanks!

Re: New Astro City and PCB running hot

Thanks for the reply. I will see if I can try measuring the resistance. I have discovered that my original NAC PSU has been gutted and replaced with a PC power supply. I've also discovered that my Ketsui PCB Player 2 button 1 does not work. There has been some battery leakage damage done to it in th...

New Astro City and PCB running hot

I finally got my New Astro City monitor rotated so I could actually use it for shmups and I've noticed that after playing Ketsui for about 30 minutes the heatsink on the Ketsui pcb was extremely hot. It was so hot I could barely touch it. When I had previously played the same PCB on my HAS supergun ...
