Re: New Astro City 4 button vs. Kick Harness JAMMA issue
Just a little update, looks like it was the lack of grounding all along! Buttons 4 and 5 work great now. Buttons 6 are still acting weird, requiring both 5 and 6 to be pressed to work properly, but I can probably figure that out on my own with some continuity tests. As a little tax, here's a picture...

Re: New Astro City 4 button vs. Kick Harness JAMMA issue
the best way is to use this interface ;) https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/Sega_2L12B_Adapter between the panel and the cabinet to go from jamma to jamma + Excellent! I'll probably end up just daisy chaining the kick grounds straight to the JAMMA first before I start looking for any additional parts b...

Re: New Astro City 4 button vs. Kick Harness JAMMA issue
The connector with the white/coloured wires at the right on your first photo, thats the kick harness, a female 10 pin AMP . Ah, understood! Yeah, I have re-wired the kick harness a couple times to no effect. However, now that I think about it, only the six current buttons are wired into Raspberry J...

Re: New Astro City 4 button vs. Kick Harness JAMMA issue
Ok, now I think I can see the problem, try to desolder the button 4 pin from the jamma connector, if that doesn't workl you will need to rearrange the pins inside the female AMP connector, it seems that one of the ground wires might be connected to some of the button pins; So I tried de-soldering t...

Re: New Astro City 4 button vs. Kick Harness JAMMA issue
Sure thing, here's some images! https://i.imgur.com/gHT4RyN.jpg Here's where they come directly into the CP. The one on the right is the astro city aux harness with 4-6 for both P1 and P2. The one to the left of that is the P2 harness, and before that is P1. Both P1 and P2 had the wiring for a butto...

New Astro City 4 button vs. Kick Harness JAMMA issue
I just bought my first candy cab a couple weeks back, a New Astro City. It was in excellent shape, but I purchased it as a 2 player 4 button cab wired for MVS that came with a 150-in-1 cart. Everything worked great in that config! I then swapped over to using my Raspberry JAMMA, still with the four ...

Re: Introduce yourself here!
Hey. I'm from the US, east coast. Owned a huge crappy Dynamo showcase cab for a year, just upgraded to a gorgeous New Astro City. Got some questions though, hoping I can glean some knowledge here and there!
