Re: Items you can't afford on Yahoo Japan Auctions

Sadly, that's probably even more inevitable than my theory :(

Still, hopefully we can band together - and stop foreigners from taking our 'British' PCBs ;) Am I doing Brexit right? :lolno:

Re: Items you can't afford on Yahoo Japan Auctions

I fully expect prices to tank again, just as soon as I've 'finished' picking up most of the stuff that I want; just as I sold most of my collection the first time, right before all the prices went crazy.

I won't be selling again - but it feels somehow inevitable

Re: Items you can't afford on Yahoo Japan Auctions

 I think I have vague memories of someone over on Shmups paying a lot for one many moons ago. Although given how long ago that was, I guess the value could be anything now.

We really need a PCB inflation calculator :penser:

Re: Items you can't afford on Yahoo Japan Auctions

Out of morbid curiosity, what did the last couple of Big Fighter kits sell for?

I usually baptize my boards in holy water. You wouldn't believe how many people turn down pagan boards
I really appreciated all the holy water (as well as holy flux) you used when you replaced the hybrids on my Moo Mesa, Violent Storm and Mystic Warriors 8-)

Re: WTT Mystic Warriors

Ah I didnt know there was a separate Asian version. I'm glad you got a version at least. I was so mad when a lot of the graphics and effects are not present through MAME and emulation. The ending didn't make much sense at all through MAME. I have the JP version and yeah it's definitely MUCH easier ...

Re: WTT Mystic Warriors

There are actually quite a few - but they don't really seem to be documented anywhere (that I could find, anyway). Off the top of my head, rank options are a bit different, and bosses take a lot more shots to go down in non-Japanese versions. The Asian version is also (inexplicably) missing the lev...

Re: WTT Mystic Warriors

You're right - buzzsaw is in all other versions (apart from Asian).

The Japanese version is the only version with the 'correct/balanced' rank, though, from my testing. Seems to be a bit of a running pattern of Konami turning games into quarter munchers for western releases ;)

Re: WTT Mystic Warriors

Well, mid boss/miniboss is possibly stretching it. The buzzsaw vehicle, is what I mean.

I have the Asian version and it's definitely not there. It just scrolls past that section (same on the Asian ROM in Mame). Caught me off guard when I first fired up the PCB.

Would you be prepared to clean and exorcise M72 boards you're not selling? I have a couple that I think might have gone full-on Linda Blair :awe:

Re: WTB: any Namco System 2 game - Cosmo Gang: The Video, Finest Hour, etc

Make sure not to change the ELNA caps, all that capacitor acid will make you decompose quicker  Personally, I plan on having a coffin shaped like an oversized DaiOuJou metal box – filled to the brim with ELNA cap fluid (which I can be submerged in). All that acid should help purge my soul of i...

Re: WTB: any Namco System 2 game - Cosmo Gang: The Video, Finest Hour, etc

Is a recapped board a repaired board? :D Possibly a grey area for some, but I'd be fine with a recapped board :) Just so long as the original caps hadn't leaked or anything. I’ve got a rolling thunder 2 for you. ;) Cash ready? :P I think you should be paying me to take that one off your hands ;)

WTB: any Namco System 2 game - Cosmo Gang: The Video, Finest Hour, etc

Can be any System 2 game, except the games that use sub boards (like Final Lap 3) - need it for a ROM swap for Legend of Valkyrie :) However, I’d prefer for it to not be one of the very most expensive games on the hardware. Although I know none of the games on System 2 are exactly cheap these days! ...
