Re: You've Got Grail! The Valuation Thread

Hi! How much could be the going rate of a Night Slashers pcb (DE-0397-0 over seas version) nowadays?

Re: PCB Wrapping 101

Thanks guys. The thing is I always see that green tape in every pcb in ordered from Japan and never white one, so I think I will go for that (the thicker one)

Not sure if it helps, but this is what the PCB shops over here use:

https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B06VT38GQJ

what's the difference between the white and the green one?

Re: Monitor discharge tool.

You probably want to keep it simple: Get a good insulated flat head screwdriver (you probably have this at home) and two aligator clips (good thick ones). Simply solder a heavy gauge wire connecting both clips, than put one on the screwdriver and the other on the metal plate connected to the chassi...

Re: Adjusting B+ on Nanao MS9-29

Nice! thank you

Talking about B+, sometimes I read that it should be needed to be tweeked when using MS9 chassis with an MS8 yoke, but what's the truth behind those affirmations? I also read people that swapped MS8 and MS9 chassis successfully without touching B+ at all.

Thanks!

74-76 is perfect
adjust the other chassis,79 is just a little too high
Thanks grantspain for your quick reply!

Then I'll tweek my spare chassis but, am I doing it well? should I use the other methods to read B+?

Thanks in advance.

Adjusting B+ on Nanao MS9-29

Hi forum! I just recapped my Nanao MS9-29T from Egret 2 cabinet (it still had the factory capacitors marked from 1997 :-o ) and I think it was a good opportunity to check the B+ voltaje, so I attached a small wire to TP2 when recapping it in order to read B+ easily when it will be mounted into cab. ...

Raiden Fighters 2 - Doesn't boot (and it's undumped...)

Hi guys! I have a Raiden Fighters 2 game cartridge along with a new version of Seibu SPI motherboard (SXX2D v2.1) that works perfectly a while ago. I have this board for years and it was stored long time ago. Recently I plug it into my cab and sadly saw that the boards won't boot and some static bla...

Thanks guys! That solution works for my blade master pcb. I remember me to be read this thread a while ago, and when I saw the error I instantly tried to clean the J3 jumper. :D

Tube and Chassis cleaning

Hi forum! I have spares Toshiba Tube and Nanao MS9-29T for my Egret 2, and I'm willing to make a deep cleaning into them previously to do a recap, cause they have a thousand layer dust on them over the years. I've clean a lot of game pcbs in the past with degreaser spray and then get them a shower. ...

Re: can I use this step down transformer for my Sega Astro City ?

Don’t worry about Watts. When a electric product is marked as 500W it means that it’s ready to connect devices up to that power. But in any case the step-down transformer provides more “power” to the cab because it is labeled as 500w. Problems comes when you connect devices or appliances that the su...

Re: can I use this step down transformer for my Sega Astro City ?

It should be fine, but it’s 110v in output. Japanese cabinets are ready for 100V as this is the standard voltage there. For that amount of money I recommend the US-tronic counterpart. They have one specific Japanese ready model to transform 210-230V to 100V . You can fetch it at Amazon. Thank you v...

Re: Interesting Partially Working Final Fight (US 900613)

Would it not be possible to put the b-21 on battery, then program it like you would a suicided c board? Any way to easily determine if b-05 is identical to one of the suicide games? Really interested in this. It could be a great way to bring back to life dead games that use odd B-XX custom chips an...
