Faulty zenner diodes on the neckboard on both chassis, on the first one the screen adjustment is either too high, or no video signal.
it has signal! if you check closely, you can see the KOF98 intro fading out. Also, screen volts is not too high. Ordered some parts, they have to come yet.

Two MS9's kickin the bucket in a month...

Hi there! Unfortuatelly the half of the Nanao's MS9 I have are crapping out. Last year two of them got revived with collapse issues and/or recapping. However, these two remaining chassis (one tube, Hitachi) are f)(%ing up. Not really sure were the problem's coming from any of them: https://youtu.be/...

Re: NAOMI: to chop or not?

Chop her right away!

I have 3 of those, none to be played upright. I also had one painted in black, which I deeply regretted in the long run and had to repaint. Whitey it is!

Re: Nanao MS9 on an Orion tube?

Just to leave an update on this.

Unfortunatelly, the operation was cancelled. The degaussing wires were damaged and all parties agreed to swap the tube.

I'm only mad because I won't know if this tube would be suitable for an MS9 chassis!

Thanks you all, for all the inputs on this. ;)

Re: Nanao MS9 on an Orion tube?

The horizontal ohm reading points to a 300uH inductance. It should work with the MS9 or in any case not cause damage. I would give it a try. You'll need to cut the yoke connector in half and keep the horizontal (red/blue) but replace the vertical. If you need the connector I have them. Thanks MKL. ...

Re: Nanao MS9 on an Orion tube?

You're right.

And those values don't show. This monitor seems to have been pulled out of a Sega Touring Car.
I think I'll pass and not take the risk.

Thanks anyway for your inputs.

you need the inductance reading of both vertical and horizontal
I suppose it is on a sticker somewhere on the tube. I'll check it when I'm home and I'll post them then.

Thanks Grantspain!

Re: Nanao MS9 on an Orion tube?

Thanks for the link, but that doesn't kill my doubt. Is it within the tolerance range?
Not sure how far the chassis/yoke combo can take it.

Nanao MS9 on an Orion tube?

Good evening gentlemen! A friend of mine just recently aquired a Naomi and he's on the process of chopping it. However, as he purchased the cabinet to use it as a Jamma setup, he asked the operator to trade the monitor to a 15Khz one. Altough the tube has a SEGA frame and stickeron its back, I'm not...

Re: Image floating

disconnect degauss coil and see if it goes away While you're probably right, I've had the same issue and also might add my input on this one. I was running a 29" Sanwa PM1745 with an underpowered 110->220v converter and it did exactly the same effect as mentionned above. Switching to a 300W convert...

Intervideo 28" SL8200 Series - Manual Found!

Hello all. This Intervideo Monitor has next to nothing at all on the internet. I finally got my hands on the manual, it's now time to share! :D This chassis is configurable via an OSD menu. So far, the menu looks a bit different than mine, but it may be just a firmware revision. It's using a free sh...

MS8-29 Missing transistors

Hello all.

I've an MS8 chassis that it's missing two transistors. I've been looking around to find which ones are to replace, but still had no luck.

Aren't the replacement ones to be the 2SD1138?

Thanks in advance.

Pana Twin Fingerboard wiring

Hi folks. I'm helping out a brother with his Pana Twin. He got one without the Jamma loom, so I offered to help. Altough I know the Jamma connector by heart, I have no clue for the fingerboard part. The thig is - all the wirign diagrams I found are in Japanese. So I struggle to know where to solder....
