Re: What Arcade Monitor should I get for Emulator like MAME on PC?

I agree with spmbx , an arcade monitor outside a cab is really a cumbersome thing. The Commodore 1084 monitors are a good solution - just like using a PVM/BVM monitor which can be bought in larger sizes than 14" but more expensive (but with better image quality as expected) I used a 1084 in my ...

Re: Advice needed on building discharge tool

Personally I use the ground from the mains, attach the crocodile clip there and discharge the tube. Of course you need to be sure that the ground is connected at your power wall sockets and it's not there for decoration :D

Re: groovymame CRT emudriver 2.0 help

I have done exactly as the guide says and it worked for me, I pointed VMMAKER to the GM folder and clicked export as well. Just follow the guide to the letter and you'll be fine ;)

Re: GroovyMAME/UME for dummies

that's my mentality too: only use the "official" GM releases... imagine you spent time to upgrade your cab/roms only to find that GM patch has some weird issue and you have to revert or wait for the real deal... ;)

Re: GroovyMAME/UME for dummies

Calamity has not released a 0.188 GM patch - latest is 0.186 . I can try and apply it to 0.188 source, should be ok until an official updated version comes out.
X64/D3D9ex/no-nag/arcade-only flavor is what you need right?

Re: Hanterex POLO 28" micro-pulsating

Just in case anyone else wants to get a PTC 96009 replacement, keep in mind that part number has been replaced with the 96209 part: http://i.imgur.com/xoWORlql.png so in reality one needs a 2322.662. 96209 part (or PTC 96209 or 662.96209 judging from the various sources descriptions) The same PTC is...

Re: Hanterex POLO 28" micro-pulsating

I have a new phone now and could capture a better video, hopefully these two will make the issue apparent. I know they are close-ups but it was the only way I could have the phone steady in order to capture this behavior: http://www.mediafire.com/file/i1d0nxnu8537f0d/WP_20170805_14_59_57_Pro.mp4 htt...

Re: Hanterex POLO 28" micro-pulsating

since noone replied I have to wonder if my video is any good... I have seen the monitor live so it makes sense to me but maybe not to others? Or is it a case noone can recommend anything because this is uncommon? :(

Hanterex POLO 28" micro-pulsating

Hiya! I've been meaning to ask this some time ago but first I wanted to recap the chassis some more. All electrolytics are replaced with Nichicon/Sanyo caps from rs-components and the big input capacitor is a new Nichicon one that is rated to last 10k hrs@105 degrees. Colors are nice and vibrant, ge...
