Re: MS9 weird behavior

could be something killing the ic, corroded yoke could do it-possible one of the diode in the vertical circuit Ok, I think it will be better to replace everything and see what happens, I have no way to check what could be... How do I identify which parts belong to the vertical circuit? BTW this is ...

I just tried another one from the pack I bought, same thing, straight into vertical collapse. Can it be the chassis frying the IC? I´m going to buy from same shop as you Grant, hopefully this ones will last.

Re: MS9 weird behavior

you have not changed the important caps as I can see the soldering is original in the photo c408,c407,c958,c402 and the one under the glue which I think is c409 also there is a bad solder joint on d401 Oh!, that photo I took it before the recap. I was just showing that orange thing. Al the chassis ...

Re: MS9 weird behavior

you need to replace 5 caps near the vertical ic, 3 x 100uf 35v, 1 x 47uf 25v and 1 x 470uf 16v you should change all your power supply capacitors as well- in fact you should change all the electrolytic caps and you will likely need to change the vertical ic again I already changed the caps before c...

Re: MS9 weird behavior

Today the IC arrived, and hurried to replace it :D . At first the image looked really nice (a bit dark, but no image adjustment) https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4544/26435024739_932d93c2cf_b.jpg I noticed some flickering but wasn´t nothing big, so connected a board and try to adjust the image, when i...

Re: Salvaging original stickers?

Check the mint green Aero for sale here at AO, the guy did a powder coat job while masking the sidearts I saw it, I was surprised too. He said a friend of his did it for him, I asked the guy at the shop, and said it can´t be done (or he doesn´t now how). I used a hair drier and took the off careful...

Re: question about size of a nac in a small car

Regarding dismantling it, It depends how lucky you are. I have dismantled two, the first one more or less no problem, it was tough because some bolts are rusty and hard to take out but the second one, I had to stop cause bolts were simply not coming off, I had to buy impact drivers, currently waitin...

Yup, when I moved mine I had to disassemble, not only to fit it in the car but to move it more easily through doorways and elevators.

Salvaging original stickers?

I am biting more than I can chew, projects are starting to pile up, waiting for parts to repair monitors or learn how to work with fiberglass, but who cares! Finally starting my Cute restoration! I am planning to powder coat the cutie, so can´t just mask the stickers, besides the side decals are com...

Ok, so this is the video:

I think is the vertical IC, cause this time it suddenly colapsed on the video, I will add it in a moment.
