Re: Single dot on screen after chassis/tube transplant

That's one of the two decoupling caps on the 200v supply voltage for the RGB amp transistors. Not related to the missing deflection. OK thanks, deflection isn't the issue atm, doesn't even power on just buzzes! Got some epoxy on the way so I can repair this properly :) Oh and the chassis gets power...

Interested in, AWSD-B Bishi Bahshi 8-) These were both excellent, I'm now interested in a MVS U4/33" ( 600 mm x 110 mm ) 2L8B Not sure if this is the first ever of these done (presumably not?) But the measurements appear wrong for the MVS U4/33" http://www.chasethedevil.co.uk/img/u433/pan1.jpg http...

Re: Single dot on screen after chassis/tube transplant

Thanks everyone for your feedback 8-) Any neck glow? Currently no. Without deflection you might expect a hole to be burned within seconds. Use an ohmeter and check that you get some resistance on both windings of the deflection yoke (with it powered off, disconnected from the chassis). This way you ...

Re: Single dot on screen after chassis/tube transplant

Yeah this hadn't been wired correctly in a couple of places, I've worked from old picures (I normally colour mark the cables to connectors)

It looks wired up right now, but there's just a loud buzzing from behind the tube when I turn it on  no picture at all.

Re: Single dot on screen after chassis/tube transplant

Looks like you forgot to plug in the deflection yoke for horizontal and vertical, or something is up with the yoke. And don’t leave it on long like that. It will burn that dot in fast. Many thanks 8-) It's been on like this less than 20 seconds total as I did worry about it burning in due to the ri...

Single dot on screen after chassis/tube transplant

http://chasethedevil.co.uk/img/canary/canarydot.jpg As title, after a transplant of chassis & tube into a new cab I'm met with this single very bright dot in the screen centre (does appear to change colour when game has loaded) Chassis/tube both working fine pre transplant. Suggested fist things to...

I know it's sold but did you take the pics down or just not showing?? Would like to see anyway! :)
Hrm, should work fine, not sure what's going on here to be honest, maybe your ISP blocked my website for me saying spicy things on twitter or something

*Deposit taken* MVS-U4 project cab for sale.

I'm based in Nottingham, £1,000 I'm asking. (valuation thread here https://forum.arcadeotaku.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=4775&p=536863#p536863) This is a proper "project cab" Needs work, but has great potential. Goods Has MVIC card reader intact, with non standard but working ribbon cables. Fairly new ...

Re: You've Got Grail! The Valuation Thread

If I were in the position for that (I'm not), I'd be okay about the £1000 mark. The tube being ropey is a pain. It is yes, which is why I unashamedly swapped it with the canary  Cheers for your input, I'll do a post and start around 1k then. That MVS-U4 should have a Toei chassis I guess . @ma...

OK, can I get a ballpark valuation on this MVS-U4 25" please? This is a proper "project cab" Goods Has MVIC card reader intact, with non standard but working ribbon cables. Fairly new Suzo Happ PSU Nanao MS8 chassis, working well, recently looked at by Grant Credit LED is working. Bads Hitachi Tube ...

Thanks NEM 8-)

Having slept on it I may swap the whole lot including the chassis over on both, probably going to be less hassle, both chassis work fine and have been recently serviced 8-)

Tube swap help, MS8 / TOEI

I have 2 cabs and I'd like to swap the tubes round, Canary -> I have a MS8-25FTB chassis with a Hitachi A59KFS61X10 tube MVS-u4 -> I have a TOEI TC-HV25LMK chassis with Toshiba A59JMZ90X tube AFAIK both these combos were common in both U4s and Canaries but presumably I can't just swap the tubes over...
