Re: Astro City (not NAC) 2.1 great speaker replacements?

On my NAC (so yes Astro may differ) a Logitech z533 sub drops in perfectly right at the back behind the coin door, I then left the speakers stock and ran the outputs from the sub to them using these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283351027212 My thinking was the bass is where it struggles so the stock w...

Another shout for airlink, with the NAC you should be able to plug one NAC into the airlink then another NAC into the NAC daisy chain style.

No need, there's also Airlink stepdowns with multiple sockets.
Yep true

Soldering, specifically DEsoldering, I picked up a Hakko FR301 this week and WOW what an absolute game changer, I highly recommend!

It makes light work of removing components with perfectly clean contacts remaining 8-)

Re: AWSD with Samsung tube and Wei-Ya chassis

Thanks for your input grant, I think it just desperately needs a recap/service then, I've had it from one of the last killer cabs orders so it must be a good 15 odd years in my possession, it's likely got increasingly worse very slowly over time :D

AWSD with Samsung tube and Wei-Ya chassis

I need to service this Wei-Ya C3129D01 chassis, but is it worth it? I've read that Wei-Ya stuff is generally crap, the tube itself is a Samsung A68QCP891X001, so does it pair with something better? http://chasethedevil.co.uk/img/wei.jpg http://chasethedevil.co.uk/img/sam.jpg Thanks for looking and a...

Re: New Astro City Power Supply Queries

Cheers! That's really helpful to know - on both counts! :awe: My stepdown does indeed look like it's a proper 3 pin socket, with the rounded earth connection above the 2 power ones. So that's great.. I'll see if I can source a suitable mains cable to wire up :thumbupright: Guess I need to look out ...

9 years 5 months 3 days since the OP and both my Horizontal width coils are finally now functional :lolno:  http://chasethedevil.co.uk/img/mvsu4oldcoil.jpg It pretty much looked like that until this evening, I've now cranked the coils to get the H.SIZE image as small as possible as per below, t...

Re: horizontal width coil, and other odd issues

How much did you pay for it if I may ask? Sorry I've not been following this thread for a bit, £130~£140 delivered is the answer you seek, so a lot! I've not got round to installing it yet. Steve at technotronic-dimensions seems a really nice guy, he's clearly frustrated at cheap poor quality Chine...

Re: Help w/ installing PC into Atomiswave SD

A few shots of my setup, it's pretty ghetto as it's my first cab :D I didn't get a shot of the IPAC as it's under the control panel but I cabled the buttons and sticks to the IPAC myself, easy enough job but wires everywhere, not sure on best way to JPAC tbh. I moved the VGA connector from its stock...

Re: Help w/ installing PC into Atomiswave SD

Yep, PC case wise I put in a "COOLER MASTER SILENCIO 352" which if you take the PCB mounting board out fits like a treat 8-)

I'm currently upgrading it from an old intel atom board to a Ryzen 3200G, I'll try and stick some pictures up over the w/e.

Re: Help w/ installing PC into Atomiswave SD

I just run a normal PC in mine with an i-pac for the controls, PC connected via the cab - VGA set to run at 640x480, you can pick whatever emulator or front-end you like. For sound on mine I used an ancient set of 90's 2.1 speakers, I binned off the old speakers and kept the sub, spliced the speaker...
