Re: Ringedge 1 & 2 Power Query
I'm not sure what exactly do you need? You've already figured it out. You just need to connect +5V and GND from the connector you have marked to CN10 (provided you have that IO, do you?) RE pinout you have, here's a pic for confirmation: re_dc_out.jpg If you have a regular Type 3 IO (837-14572), th...

Re: Ringedge 1 & 2 Power Query
So an update, got it all powered up and running on the bench but hit another problem, totally forgot the JVS 3 board needs it's own power feed. I have found it in the Virtua Tennis manual, the lead that goes from the Ringedge power output to CN10 & 11 I believe. Can someone send me a pic so I can tr...

Re: Ringedge 1 & 2 Power Query
Thanks for confirming, just ordered the 3 pin connectors. Guessing easiest would be cutting up an old kettle lead?
Will have to scour the house for something "non-essential".

Re: Ringedge 1 & 2 Power Query
You have the connector You can hook that up to a 3 pin plug, ignoring earth Just checked, none of the connectors on that small harness are the right size, they are all too wide. So going by the diagram on the PSU Pink is Live and Blue neutral. Might have a go at knocking up my own cable from an old...

Re: Ringedge 1 & 2 Power Query
Hmmm, so thinking I had some further cables required, turns out I don't. Anyone have any idea how to knock up the required cable that could be plugged straight into a UK socket? I've seen a couple cables on ebay for US/JP sockets, but obviously without the ground prong. These are the cables and PSU ...

Re: Ringedge 1 & 2 Power Query
Also, just thought I intend to use this in my Naomi upright cabinet when my garage is cleared out. Will I need to replace the PSU in the cab? Any information will be much appreciated.

Ringedge 1 & 2 Power Query
Hello all, got a Ringedge 1 & 2 imported from Japan on the Yaj auctions. Put them in storage and only just getting them out to play with, now I didn't realise they had an onboard psu. So the question is, how do I power them up on a bench to do testing etc? With the Lindbergh I got it up and running ...

Sega Ringedge 1 & 2 Differences
Hi, very long time since I've been on the forums, just managed to win a Buyee auction for a Ringedge board with a few spares. So on to my query, just wondered what the exact differences are between the 2, I'm aware the CPIU, GPU etc are different but what else? Tried to find some information and the...

Re: Initial D3 Card Reader Emulation
oh interesting stuff ...will have to have a proper sit down and read later :shifty: so does this run with a Naomi /chihiro and does away with the cards ? Yeah, at the moment you knock up a female serial cable from CN8 from the board (not forgetting to put the Naomi 2 into serial mode via the dip sw...

Initial D3 Card Reader Emulation
Hi Guys, not seen information on here about this so thought I would share the news. The Initial D3 card reader has been emulated successfully using some python code, it's currently running on a windows machine and a few cables need knocking up but the creator has put the code out available for anyon...

Naomi 2 Issue
Hello, To those that might have read I recently had a Naomi 2 board die on me, so I purchased another unit from a member here and 1st thing I did due to recommendation was to remove the "supercap" which does look like it was about to "go". Well plugged my Naomi 2 in to my cabinet with netboot setup ...

Sega Type 2 Gun setup issues
Hello, After finally being able to pick up a gun bezel for the Naomi UR I have tried to get it all up and running over the weekend. On the initial setup and powering up the system it would not power up and a funny buzzing/humming sound was coming from the sub-woofer & no LED's lit up, so disconnecte...

Re: Sega Naomi Upright monitor retrofit...
A little more screen for the actual game would be nice but I guess that's the problem with the shape of the cabinet itself! The window the game is running in is larger than the stock monitor in the Naomi (or any monitor in any regular sized cab for that matter). Opened it up on my phone initially s...

Re: Sega Naomi Upright monitor retrofit...
That doesn't look half bad! I'm guessing it's running mame with a front end? With the move guides along the bottom it looks pretty smart... A little more screen for the actual game would be nice but I guess that's the problem with the shape of the cabinet itself!

Re: Sega Naomi Upright monitor retrofit...
I have to say something like that has also already crossed my mind... The big screen and the screen on top is overkill. But with a 32" vertical screen and a fitting bezel I could imagine this wouldn't look too bad. And I would place the "instruction strip" on the bottom of th screen. I thought the ...
