Re: Monster Land English : from Encryption to Decryption...

Hello

I think it doesn't matter, it's here just to provide 1 as logic value while not creating a short-circuit.
If you need to replace it, put something like 2Kohm or 4Kohm.

Re: Monster Land English : from Encryption to Decryption...

The main CPU (z80 @ ic55)could be faulty too. Try to replace it.
Main CPU ram is ic93, next to main CPU romchips. It's not necessary the chip itself that is faulty, could be many things around it (LS244, LS374 etc...).
It's not easy to find what is wrong.

Re: Monster Land English : from Encryption to Decryption...

Sprites look nice. As it's not only a display issue, I'd take a look around main CPU circuit (main CPU itself or associated ram IC).

Re: Monster Land English : from Encryption to Decryption...

Now you can try piggy packing to see if the new 74ls174 hasn't been damaged during installation.

Re: Monster Land English : from Encryption to Decryption...

Why did you remove this 74ls174? Don't worry about the N at the end of 74ls174N

Re: Monster Land English : from Encryption to Decryption...

Hi First thing you should do is cleaning the edge connector on the PCB : I personnaly use a cuetip with 90° alcohol, a friend o'mine use a rubber eraser, if you have an electric contact cleaner like KF, is great. Then, I would check your adapter to see if the Red wire is still connected. Please, do ...

Re: Monster Land English : from Encryption to Decryption...

Hello

Yes, it's gonna work. You'll just need to use the appropriate romset, depending on the size of the main prog eproms ( 27(c)256 or 27(c)512 )

Re: Monster Land English : from Encryption to Decryption...

I don't understand if you already have a wbml pcb, or if you're talking about the one you paid and haven't recieved yet. I wonder because if it has a regular z80 as a cpu and 27(c)256 eproms only, it certainly runs with my decrypted romset already, as long as all other decrypted romsets require at l...

Re: Monster Land English : from Encryption to Decryption...

Yes, that's wbmlvcd.zip. But be advised this romset will not work as it on a modified PCB or on a bootleg : depending on the hardware (aka the romchips that are already on it), files modifications might be necessary. As to your deal on ebay, I'm really sorry to read this. But like they said on the o...

Re: Monster Land English : from Encryption to Decryption...

Hi
jammarcade.net has removed all sega decrypted romfiles to prevent SEGA (which is fighting against emulation, juste like Nintendo) to close the website.
But "my" romsets has been emulated with Mame for years now, si you can find them on emulation and arcade romfiles download websites.

Wonder Boy (System1 SEGA and bootleg) - strange sprite display

Hi everyone There is something strange I've found when I received my Wonder Boy PCB (original, this is a Star Jacker conversion). In fact, all sprites (bonuses, enemies, signs ...) "move" in a very strange way, as if a frame out of 2 couldn't disappear when the next frame is displayed. Maybe I'm not...

Re: Looking for some PCB schematics...

A little update : as I was checking an R-Type 1 manual (with gameboard schematics, available here , source : http://www.crazykong.com"), I realised that M-72 hardware is almost the same as m-84, more particularly R-type and R-type II that don't seem to have any protection. Most parts of the electron...

Re: Looking for some PCB schematics...

That's a great tip you've given me! This manual is going to be very useful. Concerning Wonderboy, the last schematics I miss are those for the "standard" System1 PCB (like SEGA Ninja, My Hero etc...).

Thanks for your help!

Re: Looking for some PCB schematics...

Thanks for your reply and for the link :),but there are not the PCB schematics I'm looking for. Besides, références on RType II have been erased (to prevent bootlegs).

Looking for some PCB schematics...

Hi I have some broken PCBs at home, that I would like to see working again. I would be certainly easier with schematics, but I can't find them. Does anyone have one of those please? That would be great! -SEGA system18 (shadow dancer, moonwalker...) -SEGA System 1 (SEGA Ninja, My Hero, Wonderboy...) ...

Re: Monster Land English : from Encryption to Decryption...

I'll try to be as clear as possible (English is not my native language ;) ). The socket for rom7 is wired for a 512kb rom/eprom. As the bootleggers used a 256 rom chip (I don't know exactly why, but I have an idea), they had to bend pin 1 and solder it to +5V, and pin 28 on the neighbor chip is +5V....
