Sorry to bump the old thread but did you ever see if a D9200 fits?

Re: rhythm paradise naomi machine

Thanks! Copying my post from arcade-projects Illumination wiring was (mostly) straightforward. I never did find a thread with it documented so I just traced it out. Thanks for reaffirming I should just run 12v to all the bulbs and then use the "outputs" for the ground connections. It makes a lot of ...

Re: rhythm paradise naomi machine

Type 3 IO outputs do toggle! I didn't map them out yet but they appear in a logical order from test menu however I don't know how to use this... they toggle between floating and ground. I.e. if I leave a probe on GND, and check the outputs, they're either floating (NC) or 0v (ground.) Should I tie ...

Re: rhythm paradise naomi machine

I am building myself a panel for this too. Did anyone ever figure out illumination wiring? I am using the netboot version for the time being, and I'm hoping the output check is the only thing removed allowing use of type1 IO. In other words I hope the lamp drive signal is still there if I use a capa...

Make sure your voltages are good at the jamma edge. CPS2 is power hungry, lots of chips to feed.

Re: Naomi 2 not booting Atomiswave

I've honestly had good luck with the multi bios and atomiswave but some have had troubles. Check your 0 key by booting gigawing 2. If you get error 33 consider a new 0 key. Obviously it can't hurt to try a stock "C" N2 bios, but I would expect you'll have the same problems and your princess is in an...

Re: SEGA NAOMI I/O related questions

Are you talking about this IO board? http://www.hklegend.com.hk/images/photos/22/9-b.jpg?13 If so, then I would think you could power it with the EXT power header instead of JAMMA, but I'm not 100% sure on the pinout. If you're not using that IO board can you let us know what one you are using? (par...

Re: SEGA NAOMI I/O related questions

You don't necessarily have to run sound or video through the IO board. It depends on the cabinet you're using. There is no problem taking VGA video / RCA audio straight from the NAOMI and skipping the IO board. To get sound / video through the IO board, you just run the NAOMIs AV into the IO board i...

Re: NAOMI DIMM board query

Generally they're in decrypted format, usually ending in .bin or .dat. MAME ROM dumps don't work; there are tools to convert some of the cart games to .bin but you shouldn't have to do this yourself any more for any reason other than curiosity. You should be able to just grab a 0 key, and the pretty...

Re: Spinners on Arkanoid Returns Taito F3?

I took out the spinner optic PCB and the schematic just doesn't seem quite right. Instead of 4x 150ohm resistors, it has 2 150's and two 4.5kohm. Regardless the output is stuck high and the input to the diode is dead. Everything seems to check out trace/resistor wise (everything is intact) so withou...

Re: Spinners on Arkanoid Returns Taito F3?

Spinners are the death of me right now. I got a spinner and a copy of arkanoid returns, and I can't get it going with a spinner. Joystick works, but with jumper and test menu set to sensor I can't get anything to work. I have some sega trackballs, so I tried using them to rule things out since they ...

It's just aged plastic. I just deal with it but some people try to retrobrite or paint them back to white.

Re: Introduce yourself here!

Greetings, I'm Jimmy Takacs. I'm new to the arcade game, but a long time retro game collector. I recently purchased a Sega Net City cab, and I'm well on my way to getting it up and running. My favorite consoles are NES, SNES, and N64, though recently I've been diving into PC Engine and import Dream...
