Re: NAOMI Cab - two problems - maybe power related?
Finally got around to testing the power and having a look at the monitor more closely... Checked the inputs to the motherboard as suggested and they all seem acceptable - 3.42v, 5.14v and 11.96v - so it looks like that isn't the issue. I had a closer look at the I/O board and reseated all the connec...

Re: NAOMI Cab - two problems - maybe power related?
I opened the cab up this afternoon and the monitor is actually an MS-2932.
I haven't checked any of the power yet - would I at least be correct in thinking that the JAMMA I/O issue could be power related? It seems to come and go, suggesting it's not an error with the hardware.

NAOMI Cab - two problems - maybe power related?
I've got two issues with my NAOMI cab which may or may not be related... 1. The monitor goes dead intermittently. Sometimes it doesn't come on at all when I power the cab on. Sometimes it will power on but then goes off with a 'click' after 10-15 minutes. Sometimes it will stay on for hours with see...

Can I get some opinions on the value of the following please? Pics of the marquees etc can be seen on this thread on UKVAC (which nobody has replied to!) http://www.ukvac.com/forum/topic339685_post849246.html" PCBs - all original and fully working unless noted Bank Panic (bootleg with JAMMA ad...

Re: NAOMI mobo dead - overheated?
Thanks John. Sticking it in the oven to trying to reflow it doesn;t really appeal to me, so I think I'll just try and get another mobo...
To avoid this happening again, would mounting a 12v PC fan inside the cab help to keep the interior cooler work, wired up to the 12v from the NAOMI wiring?

NAOMI mobo dead - overheated?
I had a party a couple of weeks back when it was rather warm outside (and even more so in my games room) and half way though the evening my Crazy Taxi cab flaked out, and from that point on it fails to load the game when switched on. After a bit of investigation I've confirmed that it's the motherbo...

Kick harness question
I'm looking to build a couple of kick harnesses to connect to a Namco JVS>JAMMA converter, and I have two questions... 1. What do I need to be searching for to get the correct sized 10-pin molex connector to fit the board? 2. Which end of the connector is pin 1? The one nearest the JAMMA cable? Simp...

Re: NAOMI Cab - Advice/Opinions needed
Thanks for the advice both of you (especially crunchywasp - very comprehensive!) I will probably leave it for now and stick it out for one with a 15k-capable monitor. There is a NNC on Ebay at the moment with a trisync and a ton of games, but it's a stand-up one so I'd have to chop the legs down mys...

NAOMI Cab - Advice/Opinions needed
I'm looking to buy my first Candy cab and was originally thinking along the lines of an Egret II or Astro City, but having seen a few chopped NAOMI cabs up for sale, I'm now thinking about getting one of those instead as it would allow me to play NAOMI games as well as hacking in a JAMMA adapter eve...

Re: Which Candy cabs are best for me?
The 'garage' is being specifically built to be used as a game room so insulation and heating won't be an issue (hopefully!)
Thanks for the advice thus far. I would say an easily rotatable monitor is a prime requirement as I intend to play vertical shooters and horizontal fighting games on the cab.

Which Candy cabs are best for me?
In a few months time I will have a new garage/games room built and ready to populate with 10-15 cabs. I want at least one of these to be a candy, so as I’m not too knowledgeable about these machines I thought it best to ask some people who are! ;) I’ll be looking for a machine to play fighting and s...
