Any input on this one? I'd say the Eeproms and stickers are fake. Never seen that kind of sticker on a Capcom board. Plus they are so white after almost 30 years my eyes are bleeding ;)

That's a conversion alright.

Re: Help Desuiciding cps2 board please help!!

"SZ3" sticker hints for Japan version, though. Weird. First 3 characters of every region CPS2 label are based on the JP title. SZ3 U is USA. Just like Armored Warriors starts with PWG for Powered Gear. -ud But this: SZ3 03 SZ3 04 SZ3 05 SZ3U 06 SZ3U 07 SZ3U 08 SZ3U 09 SZ3U 10 Implies the first thre...

Re: leonardoliveira & Idc's clean decrypted roms

I just tried the Hispanic and Brazil region sets for Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha (sfz2alhdl.zip and sfz2albdl.zip) and couldn't get them to boot (pink screen). The Asia set however is working just fine (sfz2aldl.zip). Just a heads up! Same here, tried SFZ2A Hispanic and does not boot; board checks ...

Re: Partial Sound from a CPS2 B Board – Street Fighter Zero 2

Try re-burning roms 1&2 instead, as those are the sound ones anyway. I've known a couple of games that came directly from Capcom with corrupted data on the sound roms, making some sound effects and music disappear (I have a Slammasters II board that only plays music for certain stages and transition...

Re: Final Fight A-Board "CPS DASH"

They're just newer A board models. Supposedly they were made to run the newer games such as SF2 Turbo, as running it on the larger, older motherboards will result in incorrect speed (and viceversa, when trying to play an older game on a CPS Dash board). Although I don't have access to a SF2T board, ...

Re: Looking for insight on CPS-2 gray boards

Mexico started to get included with the USA region after Capcom de Mexico went kaput (around '99-00). And yes, they did whatever the hell they wanted with any region keys. The weirdest I've seen was an XVSF Asia region (even worse, the later version with fixed infinites), on a green SSF2X case, as w...

If I remember correctly, RFJ uses a different type of motherboard than RF and RF2.

Re: Kaneko Super Nova question

There is a socketed eprom on the motherboard which stores the bios/region. From what I remember, the label tells you which region and revision you have (iirc it goes something like SKNSXX, where the first X is the region and the second is the revision).

Re: Kaneko Super Nova question

Yup. As per the Arcade Otaku wiki:
Regions are not cross compatible and have their own BIOS. The region Regions by color coded cart:

White = Japan
Light Blue = Europe
Dark Blue = USA
Green = Asia
Red = Korean

Re: Ghouls 'n Ghosts on Supergun

The TV is just fine; I checked the +5v with the board on and I got 4.19v. So I guess my PSU is underpowered and that GnG PCB is a hog alright.

Re: Ghouls 'n Ghosts on Supergun

So I thought of that, and turned on the game, thinking that maybe the TV had that issue if I could get to hear the attract mode or coins, but still nothing. It's pretty much dead once I turn it on :(

Ghouls 'n Ghosts on Supergun

Hey everyone. So I tried hooking up my GnG board on my Supergun and it only gives me a black screen, nothing else. I've played it on my cab countless times and it works fine. So does my Supergun, works with every game I have (so voltage shouldn't be an issue). The only thing I can think of, is that ...

Re: Undercover Cops Region swap

I too would like to know a bit more. What is the Alpha Renewal version? How does it compare to the JP version? Which sprite roms are mis-labeled in MAME? Alpha Renewal Version is the same as the JP version, albeit with the name changing that the World version went through (Zen became Claude, Matt b...

Re: MVS Metal Sug image duplication issue...

I just gave Metal Slug a spin, didn't notice anything neither on my arcade cab nor my TV (playing via Supergun). I think maybe you should get another TV/monitor to test things out. Years and years of playing the MS games, and this is the first time I've heard of something like this :wtf:

Yeah, I saw that, thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna try my hand at negotiating a MVC2 set + cash; I just happen to have a spare one, and just so happen to like Splatterhouse.

Just saw the thread on KLOV :palm: A MVC2 set + cash is reasonable enough, but I don't think anyone in their right mind would shell out $1k.
