Re: Konami Windy II Beeping Sound / No Video

I got my Windy II working with a MS2931 chassis dropped in with the original tube and yoke. I just extended the necessary wires instead of raising the chassis. I also had to modify some connectors to make them fit but that wasn't hard to do and if you are competent with swapping a chassis you should...

Re: Nanao MS2930/MS2931/MS2933 Neck Board Dag Connector

I just cut the plastic back a bit to get to the pin inside and spread it open a little bit with a screw driver so it fits then put some shrink tube over the pin. Same for Degauss

Re: Ms9 died after installing a cap kit

I had a MS8 collapse after a cap kit a couple years ago. Replaced the vertical hold IC and it fixed the issue and was fine ever since

Awesome you got it fixed! Why were you swapping out the MS9 though? It can probably be rebuilt

Re: Violent Storm sound problem

The Konami custom sound ID probably failed due to leaking capacitors. They can be repaired but probably want to leave it to a pro since the IC is ceramic and pretty delicate. I believe Caius does these repairs in Europe

Re: How do you work on your monitors?

One of my cabs the wires are short and strapped in on the back of the cab so I just open the back panel and set the monitor on a bench behind the cab and work on it that way. works great

Re: Repairing MS8-29SU

I had the same issue with mine, recapped and reflowed the bad solder joints by the areas that got hot then it collapsed a couple days later. Replaced the Vertical Hold IC and it fixed er up again. About a year later the screen was kind of funky again and wobbled a bit when people were playing fighti...

Re: Konami Windy II Vs Sega New Astro City

Do you have a choice between the two? Windy cabs are pretty uncommon and most people don't have a choice between the two. I would avoid the Windy unless you have tech skills or experience with cabs already. It's like owning a vintage European sports car. Parts are hard to get and expensive, the desi...

Re: Toei - TC-A252K Monitor - Neo Geo Candy 25

Have you considered finding a professional to take it to? If you are in California there's probably some service techs still or get involved in your local coin op group forum. Reason I suggest this is because they often will not repair stuff if you have messed with it already. This is a really hard ...

This seller has actually posted 2 others already. I got one for me and a friend for 3100 a piece but shipping was high because they are pretty heavy. Still beats the one STV has on ebay for $200+$50 shipping

Re: Pink Konami Windy volume pot

I posted this over at Neo Geo so I'm going to just paste it to make it easy. I finished my project, thanks Yosai for the pics, I really appreciated it. I picked up a pink Windy recently and was a little dissapointed that mine was an early model that didn't have the volume pot. I got some picks from ...

Re: AO Candy cab owners thread - 630+ cabs registered & counting

Adding to my collection (waiting on shipment): Sega New Net City Egret 2 Probably will eventually sell off either my Pony Mark IV or Sammy VideoWorld (Tosh) in this case. Don't have quite the room for four cabs. Just looked up pics on the Tosh, pretty sweet little cab! Would look so sweet next to m...
