Re: New Astro City/General Coin Meter Wiring question.
I have a regular Astro City. There's a 4-pin AMP UP female connector on the back of the coin box. Pinout is pin 1 - +5V pin 2 - Coin meter 1 (pin 8 on jamma connector) pin 3 - GND pin 4 - GND Check continuity from the jamma connector to the 2-pin AMP UP connector and you'll get your answer. I sugge...

Re: WTB - Chassis MS8-25FBC or Made MS8-25FAR
Do not pay extra $$$ for a "25" model, any MS8 will work on your Q25 Toshiba tube, the only chassis not compatible would be the MS8-26 and the ones for 18" crt cabinets.
Just get any ms9 or ms8-29 from an Astro City or any other Sega driving cab, Sanwa Pm 1749's will work too afaik.

Re: Astro City sync issues?
Check C452, its a plastic cap which is located on the solder side of the chassis pcb, it shoud read 1.0nF, if its bad you don't need to remove it, just place a good one over it, there are even actual solder holes/points on the parts side to place a ceramic cap in there, a bad C452 can cause v.sync i...

Re: Nanao MS9 with Samsung tube
Yeah..out of the 6 MS9 chassis I currently own, only 2 are working and sitting on their respective cabinets, I don't want to risk them while doing tests, I will try to fix at least 1 or 2 first then I will post here how it went.

Re: Nanao MS9 with Samsung tube
I'm not sure, resistance on this yoke reads
Hor.coil 0,8 ohm
vert. 7,6 ohm
Isn't it that a resistance equal or over 1.0 ohm is needed for a MS9?

Re: Nanao MS9 with Samsung tube
Ok, I have made some measurements on the Samsung tube/yoke Vertical coil: 18,1 mH Hor. coil: 0,33 mH I have looked it up online and it seems this yoke readings match the A68KVL74X03 tube which could work with a MS9 chassis so I might not need to do a yoke swap, I have also been told that indeed this...

Re: Painted AC stripping the paint
I will never understand the reasson behind people painting Astro Citys, unless the original paint is completely gone, or in case of yellowed plastic cabs, these don't rust they are not made of metal, why ruin the sideart? unless its completely gone, why replace it with a reproduction that looks like...

Re: Rust under control panel overlay
I've removed the windy 2 overlay in one piece before with success but the WII is more of a PVC / acetate type of material and quite brittle, not sure what the Lindbergh overlay is like. I used hair dryer and rather than apply heat directly to the overlay I heated from underneath as the steel will c...

Re: Red Bull - Playing Fields (Japanese Arcade Culture) New episode released
you may find games that nobody has even mentioned on the internet yet! Back in 2000-2001? maybe, now in 2020? I don't think so, the wheel is already invented, apart from a non working, not yet released, or undumped title, prety much all arcade games are well known, documented and playable on a PC/R...
