Astro Power Supply caps

A few years ago I removed a pair of leaking caps from this PSU, but I don't know where I put the photos and notes of each cap values, can anyone with the same PSU tell me what are the values (and position) of the missing caps from these pictures: https://i.imgur.com/8ss2a76.jpg https://i.imgur.com/E...

Re: Ms9 died after installing a cap kit

Cap installed backwards, wrong spec caps since you're using a kit, bad solder joint, solder bridge, etc. There's quite a lot that could've went wrong, your best bet is going to be to go back over your work carefully and verify capacitor location, values, and polarity. I checked and double checked t...

Re: Ms9 died after installing a cap kit

I didn't use solid silicone but a liquid one that I had lying around that needs some time to dry.

Re: Ms9 died after installing a cap kit

I think I have found the problem, it vould be the liquid silicone that I used to fix a ceramic cap under the LA7837, that could explain the vertical collapse before the shutdown.

Should I remove the gunk and test or do I need to replace LA7837 straight ahead?

Did a complete cap swap, turned it on and it showed vertical collapse, then it shutted off after a few seconds, now it doesn't turn on anymore, what could be tbe problem?

Re: Interest Check Taito Canary rotation mech

Would this rotate any 25" CRT monitor from horizontal to vertical orientation and back again? AFAIK the Canary Rotate mech can be fitted into a Jaleco Pony MK3, Capcom Q-25, Status 25 and SNK Neo 25, but not without some moddificactions/cutting on the wooden body, I have installed one on an Aero Ci...

Re: Weird buttons

Those in akishop don't have the metal bracket, also these use a very unusual method for securing the outer body to the metal cp, first you have to remove the plunger, then you unscrew the nut that secures the switch actuator onto the main body: https://i.imgur.com/EOtfY92.jpg but those you linked ma...

Re: Nanao Chassis modele inquiry

Ok, thanks for that info. If I want automatic, where should I connect the other side of the wire? Anyway, can I replace the sanwa neckboard with the one of my Nanao? Don't do it, Sanwa is made in Japan, Nanao is also made in Japan, but using chinese workers, so you'll end up with a 89.7% japanese p...

You are missing 2 points, one should go onto the p.supply screws, and the last one to the Control panel latch.

Re: Sega Naomi & UVC

Actually looks alright for the price. I am still not sure if outputs at 480i or 480p though. Thanks for the video. The whole point of the UVC is its 31khz to 24khz conversion feature, and you will not get 480p in 24khz, nor 480 interlaced (which is 15khz), the OP is looking to get 24khz from the UV...

Re: Sega Naomi & UVC

Short/quick answer to the OP, its easy, just connect the UVC converter in between the Naomi motherboard and the Sega/Capcom IO; So...you will need to build a 0.156” molex to VGA cable, then connect the UVC to the IO VGA input, blame the UVC manufacturer for providing only one output connector. PS: Y...
