Small improvement. Feels like I'm doing OK on levels 1-3 but still missing out on a lot of points on the final three.

Thanks! Realized I'm not using button 4 (auto) at all. And now my brain is all programmed for the tapping and holding of the A-button :palm:

To confuse yourself further, try holding down C+D while starting a new game. :awe:

Hmmm... I think I might actually prefer that. Seems more natural to hold C with the ring finger and use my thumb for the barrier. Thanks!

I play 1 and 2 this way. It's not critical really.

I am used to playing the PS2 and 360 ports of ESPG1+2 with the following config:
1: Laser
2: Kakusei
3: Rapidfire
4: Shield-barrier

Are the PCB's 4 button default? If so, I'm guessing 2+4 would be switched because 2 usually = bomb.

Yes, both are 4 button games. Holding C+D while starting ESPGALUDA (PCB) will let you have

A: Shot/Laser
B: Kakusei
C: Rapid fire
D: Barrier

In ESPGALUDA II, you get to choose the layout at the start of each credit (Barrier/Full Auto buttons).

thanks a lot :awe:

It was a hilarious run, I died twice at stage 2, then decided to keep going just for the practice. Ended up clearing it

Yeah, I wonder how many good runs are missed because of restart syndrome.

What made it so much more exhilarating, was that I wasn't playing by myself in a quiet environment, with no distraction. All sorts of family was over visiting, kids were screaming, there was smoke in the air, my brothers were on the blast city right next to me button mashing away at Marvel vs Capcom. I had all the distractions in the world, just like the real arcade experience. But being able to tune it all out just for that last pattern (damn that last pattern) was tough.

...and that is why this clear is more valuable to me then some kid whos sitting in his room, playing galuda in silence on his mame setup :awe:

Call me weird but I find most of my clears more valuable to me than some kid playing MAME.

^^This is similar to how I got my first clear too. Both daughters were in the same room, screaming and playing. And I'm very easily distracted, so I was kinda amazed I did clear the game with all that racket going on. :D The last pattern is tough, I always use barrier bursts when I get in trouble (make sure not to hit the cube with 'em though) and it's a lot easier.
