I was going to wait 'til I at least had a score that belongs in the top 10 but that may be some time

MAK - 2,827,400 - Stage 2 - Bond (type D)

I can finish L1 with something approaching consistency and usually get the first extend just before the boss, then I make my way through L2 (usually exploding near the silos  ) and then get royally boned by the L2 boss. Closest I've been to passing her was as the fourth form was just about to roll off the screen for a strategic withdrawal I was hit by the last bullet I was trying to weave around. I was so excited too :(

Absolutely loving it though. Excellent game. I'm looking forward to having some time off at Christmas so I can really get stuck in :awe:

Thanks :whoopsie:

I'm very slowly improving. If only I could beat the L2 boss and get a 3rd extend :(

I'll keep plugging away at it - I'd happily sit at it all day. Damn you real life obligations :problem:

Put Ibara back in the cab, haven't played it since the end of September.

Probably about 50 credits in the last two days and I haven't even so much as sniffed my old top score. :(

I find it takes me about 5 days of playing to get back on track :wtf:

Okay, starting to knock on the door a little bit now. I know I'm playing better (getting medal chain up to max much much faster) and my lvl 1 score has improved, but not able to get end results yet.

I have to figure out the timing on the last pattern of the lvl 2 boss. I usually have just bomb fragments at that point and most of the time I manage to blow some wheels off by bombing on it, only rarely to I prevent it from firing at me. Is it necessary for me to properly dismantle the previous form of the level 2 boss or is it just strictly a timing/location thing of where to place the aura.

I've finally beat the L2 boss (and my high score - only just though) but I lost my chain mid level and didn't quite reach the 3rd extend

L3's ace. Hopefully I'll start to see it more often...

I'm not getting any better with my score or progression of late :( I think I topped out at 6m in the last 2 months. I'm not going to stop this time as it takes so long to get back into the swing of things.

@Chrunchy, you will probably get to a stage where you can't beat the L2 boss again, it's all to do with rank. When you inevitably get better at L1 & 2, be that score or staying alive, the rank will shoot through and Midi will become stupidly hard. Thing is, there's no getting away from it, if you can get over that hump, that's when the game gets really good.

My advice, don't ever have 2 lives in stock during L2. Reserve your bombs so you have at least 1 Hadou for the Boss, you get 1/2 a bomb when you spawn after losing a life, so keep that in mind.

You don't actually need a full hadou to beat midi, but it makes life so much easier.

Same, I can cope with 5-6M but more is going to take some dedication to learn L4 better.

I actually find Midi easier than Meidi though. Although I can't manage to do the hadou trick on Midi, Meidi I can fully milk but I have to suicide twice to do so :awe:

@markedkiller, thanks for the advice, much appreciated. I got to Midi with all lives intact so things were getting a bit insane. I started L3 with just 1 life and was killed by that spinny 4 legged mech.

I need to practice L2 more, make a conscious effort to conserve bombs for the boss and try to control rank more effectively.

I hadou that L3 mid-boss 99% of the time. Only time I don't, is when I need to suicide.

Don't mess with it, it's a total ****.

@cools, it's because your milking the **** out of meidi. If you leave both wings alone, she's is a cake walk, but where's the fun in that :awe:

It's a cinch even with the rank up! With a slower ship, that is.

Of course. Does tend to make the beginning of L2 a bit chaotic

I know you can handle the L3 mid boss, but it always creams me in its 2nd form with those large blue spikey balls

The point blanking it likes to do with that does catch me sometimes, normally keep off to the side though.

I got wasted by the 2nd form of the L3 boss :( The adrenalin's still coursing through my system

At least I'm getting to L3 now. Gawd, it's manic
