I've been playing this a bit, Level 5 with a score of just over 5 million. Not even near challenging Kernows score.

sold the game recently to fund another purchase :( ...although its still local)

sadly at the moment other than uo poko i dont actually own any cave titles....it pained me to sell them(to a degree...everything is replacable after all), but i have most of my savings tied up in my stuff, so if/when i want to get new stuff, something has to go....

thankfully i have friends locally that have cave games as well....i currently have esprade and DS:MBL on loan from brendz till i can afford to grab some more cave goodness

i have spent the last couple years playing pretty much nothing but cave....probably good to give it a bit of a rest and then go back at it....

i recently got back into music production(which ketsui helped fund)....and i sold mushi and galuda to grab some other games....both games went to friends locally so its not like i no longer have access

the silly thing is i will probably buy them both again in the enxt little while as soon as i have the cash....ketsui will probably have to wait for now....that damn near killed me getting that kind of cash together at once.....as much as i love the game im not sure how keen i would be to go through that again

my pockets arent as deep as some here....im always juggling stuff to keep things fresh...sell stuff to get new stuff....

im not a collector....games dont stay with me long if im not actively playing them....i cant afford to sit on $400+ games
on the loose

Nice score Matt. :awe:

Had another quick go last night, Level5 5 mill. :|

This game is way too easy, there are hardly any places where the bullet speads get tough. Just got to remember to switch modes and try for the bigger score. I think I'm going to swap the button on my cab around and see if I can improve the score. It's really odd playing a game using buttons 4, 1 & 2.

Yeah pretty much. There aren't many spreads that don't have gaps in them. In other games it's all too easy to get trapped by a curtain of bullets, in this theres normally a gap at least an inch wide to easily navigate through.

It's on default settings btw. ;)

If you hold button C+D when you start the game, you get full auto on C and shield bomb on D. The game is super easy up to stage 5 UNLESS you PLAY FOR SCORE. Try getting 3+ million on stage 1. :awe:

Man, this is soft for a Cave game. Only just got the PCB, played it about five times and got this:

20,595,180 - Stage 5 (final boss form) Ageha

... and then I went on shmups thinking my score was ok, and I don't even rank on the scoreboard! :)

Although it's pretty easy for a cave shmup, wtf is going on with the last boss final form? :eh:
No matter how I look at it, I can't see a safe way through that pattern. Is it a case of just getting there with 4 lives in stock and soldiering through?
Always outnumbered, never outgunned.

When you really start raking in the big scores, that's when the game really shines/gets really hard. Try to get 3+ million on stage 1, then tell me the game is "soft". My tip for a successful all clear (final pattern strategy):

Use your shield barrier in very small bursts (quick tap) and steer the laser it gives off away from the CUBE, as it will otherwise replenish the lifebar of the boss. Also, try not to get caught where the cube-balls cross each other. This should give you a fighting chance, even with only two lifes left. :awe:
