This was the first thing I checked (wires going to/from the neckboard, or bent pin on the bulb) and I couldn't find anything that looked wrong. Do you know anything else I can check? Basically it seems like it's not coming on at all (bulb is not lit up).

It seems like getting new monitors for Blasts is a huge pain, so could you recommend me a chassis I could purchase online for a swap in case I end up having to go that route?

Yes, only the neckboard. Didn't even remove any wires from it or the monitor.

I'll check Alva Amusements tomorrow, otherwise this cab is gonna bite the dust . . .

Edit: http://cgi.ebay.com/29-Sanwa-VGA-flat-s ... 588440e343

Any chance that monitor will fit in the Blast with no modifications to the bezel? I don't mind going to 31khz-only with this cab.

Also, what about this chassis? http://arcade-game-sales.com/products/s ... 372-1.html

Hmm...$250 chassis or $1000 monitor? I'll take the chassis swap. So which chassis do I want from Alva Amusements? What's the model #, etc?

Hey zorahk, I saw your chassis selling thread on Neo-Geo forums.

Do you know if your MS9 Chassis would work with my Nanao monitor, and just do 15/24K? 31K is not that important to me, what's more important is getting a dead monitor working since I run these cabs in an arcade.

If so, I'll just buy your old chassis and get this over with quickly.

alva have wei ya chassis so ask them for a wei ya 3129b single focus chassis
tbh your monitor can't have anything serious with it if you only took the neck card off and changed the cap, there must be a a plug off or something in the wrong position

That is really the only thing I did!!!

I left the neck card "hanging" for a bit with wires still connected to the chassis. The plastic connectors are all fine, but could anything else have come loose?

The ms9 has diff specs than the ms31, so it won't work.

If you just run this in an arcade get the wei ya, though tbh it won't be as good as a ms2931

neither, you need the B. the D is for pureflats and the A is for nanao ms9, ms8, sanwa es31, sanwa pm1745 or whatever, etc.

rodotron 666b is the same thing though, if you can find that.

also 750 for a new ms2931 is incl shipping, might wanna try giving sega a call if you can afford that it will look far better @ 15k and 24k than a weiya.

if you really want to get the wei ya, this is the one you need:

Also if you don't want the MS2930 because you get a wei ya, I will buy it as a non-working chassis.
I might be getting one of these ms2931 that they have at sega and if it ever dies the ms2930 should be a straight swap.

So yeah, Sega quoted me $750 for the MS2931 NOT including freight, so I passed on that and ordered the chassis from Highway Entertainment so I can just do the swap.

zorahk, when I take out the old chassis I will sell it to you.

I couldve sworn he said 750 incl freight when I was on the phone with him, though I guess I'll find out when they charge my card.

Just let me know what you want for the ms2930.

Got my new chassis today. I've never done a chassis swap before, can anyone link me to a good guide for this?

Any chance you'd be willing to post some pics of it running in 15k once you've installed the new chassis? It would be a great help to see the results since I'm considering buying a Blast City and replacing the chassis seems to be an unavoidable issue.

Anyway, best of luck with the swap.
I need not...the NORMALS!
