I don't know if and how you can make a pi robust like like that; for me it didnt work. I don't want to properly shut down an emulation console, it needs to be headache and worry-free.
RetroPie isn't set up to allow power pulls. I've got notes somewhere on doing it with Linux, it's dead easy.

I know for the Gameboy zero project people are using a thing call "graceful shutdown" to stop said corruption, Which is prob similar to what cools is surgesting>

I don't know about it being dead easy though as there seem to be quite a bit involved (Hardware/Software)

Nah, completely different - just software. I know you can simply set the filesystem to read-only and that solves it, but I'm sure there was another way of doing it. This was >10 years ago though.

Ah ok, Using the read only file system would effect saving game files/retropie config settings though ? unless there is some exclusion for extentions or something no ?

Nah, what I'd do is have the core filesystem read-only then a separate partition/drive for stuff I needed to write to. Its a bit more in depth though. Certainly possible to harden it in software .

I have an RGB AV Famicom, CRTs, a Framemeister and a couple of Pi's but I still fancy one of these just because they look cute :whoopsie:

I never had a NES growing up, nor wanted one, so I have no nostalgic desire. That said it looks pretty nice, will no doubt sell well.

Will be waiting for the first person to hack this and have the whole library playable.

If they decide to release a SNES one though I might be tempted.

Well, apparently it has a "CRT mode" and a "pixel perfect mode", so it could actually be somewhat competent.
