Thimbleweed Park on Steam - 2.8hrs in and loving it!

Uncharted 4 on PS4 - Not sure how many hours in but still loving it!

Ghosts N Goblins on Arcade - Can get to level 4 most times now but haven't broken 130,000 point barrier yet.

:awe: My son got it right when it came out. I made him unlock all the OG levels, and I played through OG L1. Truly awesome! I watched him play some of the higher levels (non-OG), and while the eye candy is certainly current gen and amazing, the overall feel of even the new stuff took me right back to playing Doom 1 and 2 on my parents' PC circa 1993. :D

Great game. Relentless stuff. I loved the melee/health mechanic and lack of reload.

Glory kills are great, very satisfying. Especially as they don't disturb the flow of action and some of them are pretty funny :awe:

Got the Japanese Ico & Shadow of the Colossus box-set. (on the same day the remake for PS4 was announced :problem: )

Ico despite it's aged looks is still a magnificent adventure game.
Colossus is next in line. Hope I don't tarnish the memories of playing it on the PS2 a decade ago.

On the box-set:

It's rather beautiful with a nice little accompanying booklet containing a rather lengthy interview I assume and some foldout sketches and production notes.
(Was there a attempt to translate it?)

:awe:

It's great. It's a great example of a game where you feel in pretty deep after only ten minutes.

I got stuck at the giant ball. :(

I'm also stuck at that boss, but I'm determined to bust that thing. :whoopsie:

I'm playing the "normal" mode on PC Engine, which is a lot easier than the arcade version.

The pacing in the game feels just right. How come there's no sequel? Baffling.

Normal mode on PCE here too - about a year ago. It was the first time I'd made an effort to get past level 1 - dunno why, I think back in the day I played an Amiga port or something and couldn't get on with it.

It gets hard fast but it's not too bad once you get steady with the controls and I love that a decent feeling go takes no time at all. That is until that boss though! I was determined too, but after the fifth time getting to it and losing all my lives... I was sooo close a couple of times. :(

SFC Chatting Parodius turned up today. I'm off to currently play it.

Went to a buddy's arcade the other day and found Sexy Parodius on the MAME cab he had there. Learned to love that game over again just while playing there. Been playing it every day since then :D .

Still tickling away at BotW. The last five shrines are proving elusive, but I did finally find the Zora Helm yesterday. I believe I've completed all of the quests except defeat Canon, and have found 250 or so Koroks.

Only thing researched was the final memory location, after spending hours hunting the map to no avail.

The Binding Of Isaac: Afterbirth+.

I'm struggling to gain much enjoyment out of it, but I'm going to give it a bit more time in the hope it clicks - it's perilously close to being declared boring, and chucked on eBay. As a twin stick shooter it's just plain bad. It's nicely animated and detailed. Music I could take or leave.

I think my biggest complaint is that most runs only start to get interesting 15-20 minutes in. The initial couple of levels are just plain dull, you've not got any decent weaponry and there's little interesting going on. Die during them and you need to repeat the same drudgery - there's no reward.
