I've got the 3DS Xenoblade Chronicles 3D - worth giving a bash to try?
It's not the best JRPG, but i think it's the best 3d one on a Nintendo console.

It's standard modern JRPG fare, if you like the genre I'm sure you'll get on with it. If you don't, it's not going to convert you.

I don't at all. That settles it. Been thinking about the SNES and why it doesn't really hold any interest any longer - I've played everything non-JRPG to death back in the day.

Got the NES30 Arcade Stick today, supposedly the Switch version and the instructions say it's in Switch mode by default. It won't pair with the Switch. I've followed the instructions to the letter, tried several times, tried a USB connection. No dice. Downloaded the latest firmware but I've no idea what cryptic button combination to press to get the installer to recognise it. Piece of ****.

OK so it's L+R+Start BEFORE plugging it in.

USB>GameCube controller adapter support was quietly added in the last update. Pretty handy for me as I have half a dozen of the things kicking around. Docked only but I can't imagine bringing them on the train anyway.

So, does this open up the possibility to play USF2 with a hard-wired controller?

Managed about 2 hours with it last night. I've cleared the tutorial and first two areas, albeit I'm sure there's a lot of stuff I missed in both.

Bear in mind I have only watched the Nintendo Direct back in July(?) and the trailer once, maybe the odd screenshot. No reviews as far as I can remember.

Very understated opening, much like BOTW you get presented a title screen with a few options and everything happens thereafter.

It's pretty fun, lots of surprises and quite inventive. What I really like is the drop-in-drop-out co-op at any point. Can't remember the last game that had that which wasn't simply an arcade title.

The only bit I'm disappointed with - handheld mode means you can't perform certain attacks as they are motion controlled. Hasn't felt limiting so far but definitely makes it a bit harder to play.

They work in handheld but treating the Switch as a frisbee isn't on the cards.
