AWSD 2.0

Post by neokoen »

Just have to show off and make Kern jealous  , I call it the AWSD 2.0

What is it you ask ? Well it's just a Sanwa PFX in an AWSD cab.
Those who have seen the PFX chassis know it's one big thing of some sort thingy whatever
So you need some special stuffs and here's my solution:

And here it is installed:

And with chassis and tube installed:

No pics of the machine, it looks like any other AWSD from the outside

I have the designs for that but 't was too expensive to build :(

On the other had It's not too difficult at all to turn , just bring a friend and take off the neck board.

I was seriously thinking about putting a PFX in my AWSD. Are you able to get / make any more of those trays? :) Whats the tubes depth like with the front bezel?

The PFX tube fits perfectly in the AWSD. You only need to swap over the two frame bits of the old tube to the new one. Length on both sides of the mounting lugs is the same as the original Wei-Ya and the bezel does not need adapting at all.

I can make another tray if you really (and I mean really) need one.

However, I do have the impression that the geometry got a little worse than when it was mounted on the original frame. Still trying to find the cause of that :( My guess is some parts are magnetised or the aditional tube tilt has something to do with it, at least it's not the speakers.

Is it possible for the frame to get magnetised if so can can it be "degmaged" with a degaus wand ?

Would a 'cheep-o-the-wand' from one of the HK sellers do or is some potent equipment required ?

Do they really work with 220V ? The plug looks like a 110V ?

Thanks.

Is there a difference using a degaussing coil or a wand ?
