My new Blast City!

Post by Lachlan »

I picked up a nice Blast City a week ago! Finally in the club ;)

I've got a Nanao MS-2932 chassis and a MS-2930 tube, so its only 31k :( but it's a nice picture. There is some Virtua Tennis burn in but its only visible on a white screen, eh beats the no name tube Wei-Ya they were going to fit in as an alternative. That said if I can find a MS-2930/1 donor chassis I can easily swap it over for some tri sync goodness but finding one is the problem. Only 2930/1 tubes fit the bezel properly so its dissapointing I couldnt get a tri sync but 31k only isn't that bad ;) Im running a cheap ACV-011 cga-vga converter which works but I'll need to upgrade to something that doesnt produce noise in the video signal. Possibly an XRGB or something, if anyone knows a nice converter that isnt hugely expensive let me know :D

It came with a rusted out Astro City control panel so I've ordered a new panel from Ken at the Game Room off ebay, should look a lot more snazzy! As far as I know I think it's got a 001 loom but its probably just the regular sega loom. Just need a marquee for it and we're good to go. Also I need a 100yen sticker, does anyone sell these?

Now the awesome thing here is that because I had to dissasemble the machine to move it inside, I've found 7 tokens from Sega World in Sydney along with a sticker, barcode and serial number listed as from Sega World Sydney. The place was open from '97 until 2000 and then everything was sold off and the tokens were melted down. Washed in some coke to bring back their shine but I've heard they aren't terribly easy to get a hold of.

Welcome to the Blast City club! :awe:

In regards to the 100 yen sticker, Sean @ MCS used to make great repros. I might have a spare one lying around here somewhere, I'll check.

Thanks guys! Glad to finally have a cab again. I owned a NAC 5 or so years ago and Ive regretted selling it ever since. I've managed to find a source for the art over at the NeoGeo forums, PM BIGTIME and check out his thread http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthrea ... pre-orders"

Also, my power supply is multi voltage 100-250v. Are these common? most I see are all 100v.
