MS9 Tri Sync Question

Post by GeekMan1222 »

I feel like I have seen this done before like a chassis swap?
Is it possible to turn an MS9 New Astro City monitor into a TriSync monitor. If so are there any real draw backs to that?

Thanks :D

You can swap the chassis for a Rodotron 666A, no draw backs. There is also an equivalent Wei ya model.

Yes, that would be the 3129A indeed.

Just be prepared for some compression on the right side of the picture at 15kHz.

Among other things, the thing died on me twice now, so don't expect to get any quality time out of it.

To get those chinese chassis to live longer, replace all caps with good quality ones the moment you get it.

Upon arrival (brand-new chassis) it had a defective vertical IC, replaced that and worked again. Now a relais just keeps clicking and I have no clue as to why the voltage keeps dropping after T3. Don't think caps would be able to prevent these issues...

Are there replacements available? Or is the chassis just an expensive paperweight once the flyback fails?
