nanao ms-2931 chassis replacement

Post by arcadeaddict »

I have a bad nanao ms-2931 chassis with a toshiba A68LBT696X tube. It is auto tri sync with osd.

I got a nanao ms-2933 chassis possibly for a replacement which is also auto tri sync with osd

Can I use a nanao ms-2933 chassis with my tube?
The wiki for ms-2933 says it is for a A68KSM696X tube but i can not find info for that tube.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

So I was told that it was ok to put chassis on tube. I installed chassis and it worked fine for about 30 mins. Then it lost all red. I've checked tightness of neckboard, adjusted red gain, cutout will no luck. I also ohmed wiring for red from jamma harness to monitor and it was good.
Any ideas?

you need to prove red gun is ok
you can momentarily short the gun to ground,if the tube is ok the screen will go bright red
if this is the case then you would need to look at the red drive circuit

Grantspain thank you very much for advice. I was not sure how to short out red gun so I just went with inspecting red circuit. I noticed some questionable looking joints on chassis so I reflowed those and also reflowed all joints on neckboard just to be safe. I now have red back.

Thank you very much
