I've had issues with my Pony monitor for some time and I would really like to get it sorted.
The horizontal size of the picture jumps intermittently. Often if the machine is jolted (perhaps with a heavy hand on the joystick) it will go from a normal size to about 30 percent bigger.
Sometimes it will wobble just a little and other times it will be fine until it is jolted. It appears to be related to the S.P.C. pot and will occasionally bend the picture. Sometimes tweaking the pot will correct it.
If I tap the remote board the picture will also be affected like there is a loose connection, making me wonder if there are some dry joints? Also, stupidly I tweaked a pot called h-sub or something and the monitor made a loud high pitch noise. I've previously posted about the monitor making a high pitch noise which calms down after a while. I wonder if is related the issues I am having now?
It is probably apparent I don't know monitors very well and I am not great at soldering.
Any help is appreciated. I would love to get it fixed as it is driving me nuts!
Thanks,
Dave

Re: MS8-25 issues - Horizontal jumping
Just a thought but is there anyone local to me (York) that could take a look?
Obviously I would pay you for your time.
Thanks again,
Dave

You could send the chassis to grant and see if he can sort it. .

Dirty pot or loose joint. If your pots are of the open type (no plastic cap on top) you might want to try contact cleaner spray first. It will make a mess, so be sure to clean up properly before reapplying power.
My 15kHz cabinet Peplos will never power up, with any item, and I am quite proud of that.

Re: MS8-25 issues - Horizontal jumping
Thanks for the replies. The pot is sealed if memory serves me correctly.
Unlike the Egret 2 chassis, it is a bit trickier to get this one out. I was hoping someone may be local and could do the whole thing.
I will message Grant if I cannot find anyone near.
Thanks fellas,
Dave
