Wei-ya M3192D will not sync to PCBs in 15/24

Post by Shou »

I've got 2 of 3 Weiya monitors that just will not sync to most 15/24kHz boards but is OK with consoles and VGA. They originally did sync to all of the boards I am trying when I got these monitors new.

Used different superguns and boards but struggling with most boards (tried Model2/3 boards, Seattle/Vegas boards, various 15kHz games like World Rally).

Anyone have an idea of what could be failing?

Don't know about that one but some chassis have multiple pots for sync depending on the frequency fed into them.

This is an auto sync model and I haven't touched any settings outside of v and h hold so would that still apply?

I don't have a cab, these are chassis and tubes in a box so will have to take it apart to see what I have but my symptoms are not rolling, just no sync whatsoever on certain boards and for the 24kHz games, they will sync and then go out of sync with a clicking noise as the monitor struggles with the scan rate.

To GND on the PSU I imagine but I'd have to open up the supergun to find out. I am trying multiple AV7000s with the same results.

Er, yes, per JAMMA standard that is where it is coming from the boards.

That was it actually. Traced backed to both harnesses and found that pin 14 had been completely severed! All working now except for games that combine H+V sync....
