Ms2930 questions
Having a few issues with mine,
I just want to know if they could be related,
First up.
noise coming from the monitor.I think its coming from the deflection coils (i dont know what they do)
side compression, not too bad but its there
and after an hour or so the picture starts to wobble a little and shrinks a bit?
Any ideas?
would a cap kit be worth a shot?
Cheers

Re: Ms2930 questions
sounds like b+ could be unstable
had the pot cause this on nanao chassis-caps usually are fine with these

Hi all,
Grantspain, for MS2930, you mean that capacitor are ok and no need of capkit, but pot need to be changed ?
And what about if we have same issue with MS2931 (little side compression in 15k) ?
Cap kit would fix it ? replace the deflection coils ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Ms2930 questions
no noise for me !
but I think you can easily fix the noise with some spray on copper coils.
like explain on this amazing how to :

I'm about to perform this on mine

Re: Ms2930 questions
doubt you will ever fix side compression on 15khz,that is something virtually all multisync monitors suffer from
its something to do with the high voltage cap values in the horizontal deflection circuit

I can live with the compression,
Update on the noisey yoke,
I found a spot on the yoke where if I applied just the right amount of pressure the noise pretty much stopped.
I wedge a bent steel ruler wrapped in insulating tape between that spot and the protective frame of the monitor and its killed 90% of the noise.
I had a few friends over Friday night and it was on for 6 or 7 hours without issue!
No sign of the slight wobble I was getting before.
not ideal solution but its working

Re: Ms2930 questions
You'd probably be better off using a piece of plastic, or possibly putting some silicone or glue on the yoke.A piece of steel might have an effect on the magnetic field.

yeah never tought of that,Hewitson wrote:You'd probably be better off using a piece of plastic, or possibly putting some silicone or glue on the yoke.A piece of steel might have an effect on the magnetic field.
I had the ruler to hand,
might try silicone on it
