Nice work Boregi, anyone told Jomac yet?

Awesome monitor, shame it was discontinued in 2006.

Brightness and contrast are just the normal items also available in the normal menu.
Does this adjust the limit for the regular OSD? I have a D29C051 in my NNC with the max contrast at 100, whereas my Ikaruga cab goes to 200 (I need to check whether that's the same model). Oddly though it's not half as vibrant, it looks almost perfect.

The monitor in your Ikaruga cab was nice - I nabbed it from an Ollie King, so might be an older model than the one in your NNC

Is your Ikaruga cab with a Sanwa PFX (and not a Toshiba PF)? Luke2fr told me he could go up to 100 with his PFX.

Edit:

ok, I'm wrong with my theory

Pang, remembered that you wrote something about that earlier. I'll do some further testing tonight and see whether it actually does anything else than just mirror the settings in the normal menu.

Does your contrast go to 200?

Remember a wheel is pretty useless on it's own.

Wired up two buttons to activate the hidden geometry and color adjustment menus on my D29C051 today.
Hidden Menus - Buttons Small.jpg
I was wrong yesterday when I stated that both menus could be triggered with 0 Ohm. In my eagerness when I saw it worked I missed that I had the pot at max instead of min, sorry about that. So the menus I've managed to trigger on the D29C051 are:

* Color adjustments - Ground pin 39 with 0 Ohm
Hidden Menus - Color Small.jpg
* Geometry adjustment - Ground pin 40 with 2k-8k Ohm
Hidden Menus Geometry Small.jpg
I soldered a 3.9k resistor between the button and pin 40 and it works great.

Pang, my contrast goes to 100 max and the contrast and brightness settings on the hidden color adjustment menu is just mirroring the value set in the normal menu.

Very nice mod!

That's reassuring. Unless there's another menu, my other Tosh PF must be a different model. I don't really need the extended menu at all really :P I got lucky. This technique will be a godsend for anyone who got a NNC with iffy geometry and thought they'd have to live with it.

I haven't checked on the cab, but I've old pictures where i can see brightness was set to 100 and 1/3 of the max, while contrast was 111 and something like 80% of the max...
on my pfx

Had the same problem with a Nanao MS-2933 - picture was kinda lame, but brightness + contrast settings were set to max). Ended up sending it to Craig, don't know what he did (voodoo?), but know the picture is awesome with settings set to 70% or something.

Finally I got a chance to test this.
I did the first test on my D29C051 and as Ikaruga007, I found the color and geo, no H-freq.
I also had the same contents as Ikaruga007. (Geo and color menu)

Then I modded the remote with two extra buttons.
The one to the left controls the color menu and the other one the geometry menu.
Works perfectly.
The resistor is 3.9KOhm.

(I also changed the old rusty buttons to new fresh ones.)
Now lets try this on my K29CQ50 :)

Did the same mod on my K29CQ50.
Works perfectly.

In geo it has:
Pincushion
Pin corner
Trapezoid
Parallell
Pin balance
S correction
C correction

In color:
R cut
G cut
B cut
R gain
G gain
B gain
OSD (Intensity of the on screen display)
Contrast

I also got the H-freq at higher ohms on pin 39, but I didnt bother to add that button.
