sanwa 29e31s width problem

Post by virtvic »

I have a Naomi uni with a width & pincushion problem.

I understand this is a common fault with these monitors. Is there a width coil I can adjust or can I get around this problem with cap replacements?

Cheers

will take a look a little later on the schems,if you have seriously excessive width and pincushion and no control on the width at all then i would say for certain its transistor

There is control on the width, but it is quite a way off the screen...

I also have a 29e31s with excessive width, i've sent the monitor for repair with an arcade dealer twice and it came back with the same problem which is very frustrating.

All adjustments POT work including horizontal width, horizontal and vertical transistors have been changed already, diodes seems to be fine (none is shorted at least). i don't know where else to look...

I seem to have the same problem on my 29E31S

I'm new to CRT electronics, although I have some electronics experience building tube amps and audio related electronics.

The diodes I'm looking for, would they be the 1N4148 type or the larger HER308 types?
I have an original schematic here, even that one is quite close to being unreadable... so, I'm having trouble finding the horizontal circuit mentioned above...

Couldn't wait and the lack of information on this monitor didn't help either.
I took it to the guys at eurocoin UK to have a look at it. they'll hopefully fix it.
in any case i will share any info i can gather on this problem when the monitor is back.

Same here, I'm still struggling with the issue. It would be very interesting to see what the problem is...

An arcade repair company checked my 29E31S and told me it would probably be due to a few bad IC's and Caps that need replacement. They suggested the repair price would be between 300-500Eur. I'm thinking of completely swapping the chassis with a tri-sync ordered on Craig's website... This seems to be cheaper than the repair.

Well, I've placed the order for the Tri-Sync chassis with Craig. Waiting for it to arrive... I hope this will solve the issue.
I'll let you guys know.
