Hey guys. I've got a Nanao MS9 chassis here ready to light up the Toshiba tube that came with my Pony 28". The cabinet originally had a Toei chassis, but I brought it broken and it turned up without a chassis at all. I've been told this chassis is compatible by Richy13 who has done this swap over himself.
Just today I got the right headers to fit the MS9 chassis. I'm pretty excited and want to get this thing on the road, but one thing stands in my way - I have no idea what plugs in where on the Chassis! And in some cases, which cable to which pin. I'm a complete noob when it comes to electronics so I figured I better ask first, I don't want to put something on back to front and blow the entire thing. Here's the pics...

Close up of circled area A, one of the plugs was hidden in the previous shot.
From what I know, E is the power, and C is the remote board. I should have those sorted out okay.
And here's the collection of cables I have... (have yet to put the new headers on)
Yoke:

RGB from the JAMMA connector:

Degauss:

Other cable coming down from degauss area (one side taped up):

Image of the cable coming down near degauss:

I'll figure out what the other cable coming down is tonight.
Any help is appreciated. Dying to get a cabinet going, got two dead cabs with monitor problems and it's driving me nuts...

Re: Nanao MS8 - What connects to what! (and which way)
A=Frequency 15/24khz selection(4 pin)-one header is 15khz and the other is 24khz and Horizontal yoke connection(2 pin)
B=Video signal input
C=Remote board
D=Degaus coil header(2 pin) and manual degauss header (3 pin)
E=100vAC input
Underneath the letter "c" is the vertical yoke connection-notice the pins are of a smaller gauge than the horizontal yoke header
your yoke connector on your crt will be unlikely to fit one of the connectors and you will need to break in half anyway
And here's the collection of cables I have... (have yet to put the new headers on)
Yoke:
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/kA" ... directlinkcorrect-red and blue are horizontal yoke/yellow and green and vertical yoke
RGB from the JAMMA connector:
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/8N" ... directlink correct
Degauss:
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/fe" ... directlinkcorrect
Other cable coming down from degauss area (one side taped up):
http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/NR" ... directlink
Image of the cable coming down near degauss:ground wire for neck card

That looks like a ms9 chassis to me

Re: Nanao MS9 - What connects to what! (and which way)
Thanks Grant that's exactly what I needed to know. MS9 you're right, my typo
Worse thing that'll happen if I put the yokes on the wrong way is it'll flip the picture, right?
E, the power, does it matter which way around power goes, or should it be a specific way?
Don't have a header for B yet, looks like this will have to wait till next weekend.

as long as you connect the correct windings to the corresponding yoke connectors it does not matter which way round they are-picture will reverse---if you get the horizontal on the vertical then you will fry the yoke(and vice versa)
Always meter(set on ohms) the yoke pairs before switching on just to make sure you have the correct pairs-readings can found in wiki
Almost always red and blue are the horizontal yoke/green and yellow the vertical but colours vary from time to time so be sure before you connect
E, the power, does it matter which way around power goes, or should it be a specific way?
not so important but you should try to get the live on pin 1 or whatever line goes straight to the fuse,neutral to pin 2
Don't have a header for B yet, looks like this will have to wait till next weekend.

Hmm, thought I'd replied to this thread
You can get connectors D & E From Jaycar.

Where I plug in the RGB on the chassis, the pins are labelled - R G B GND H V. My video cable though just has the usual JAMMA RGB GND and Sync. Where does sync go?

So I need to split it to go to both?

Re: Nanao MS9 - What connects to what! (and which way)
*think*
I don't remember seeing any funkiness with my E2 so it might just be a matter of taking it to the H sync input. I know you definitely don't need to split the sync on an MS9 so taking it to both H+V should work.
If someone could snap a picture of the connector on their chassis in-situ that'd answer the question.
