With prices like those it makes me nervous playing my PCB's now. Or are you not ment to play these games anymore ? Maybe just display them in a glass cabinet or something? Shame ,I miss the old days of passing around games at reasonable prices

The market dictates the prices.Easy like this. If someone likes it or not doesn't matter. It's the same with pinball machines, but even worse. 15 years ago you got them for nearly nothing and now prices are incredible high. There's a huge demand so prices rise. Many people how played these games in their youth buy them now for memories.

I feel really lucky that i bought all the cave stuff already in the last second. Payed already stupid prices but now its even **** worse and i guess it won't get better soon.
And yes i play the cave shmups nearly every day. They won't get better just sitting in my cupboard.

So what am I to do?

My family's growing, I have to prune my collection and very shortly I won't have a permanent vert cab anymore. I'm pretty far from being a collector and have only two Cave titles - Ketsui and Ibara - of which I only want to keep one. So I can stash the other in a cupboard forever more, pass it on to someone here, or throw it to the wolves on eBay.

To date, I've sold or given away everything I've bought at a loss and been happy doing so. Cave stuff is cray though.

So my options, as I see them, are:

1) List Ketsui here for a perceived low price. Chances are it'll get snapped up by someone who'll quickly flip it on eBay or another forum, never to be seen again

2) List Ketsui here at the perceived grailing rate and look a Cynthia

3) Avoid looking a Cynthia by sticking it up on eBay and let the collectors fight over it, never to be seen again

4) Let it rot in my cupboard

5) Trade it for something I don't need and end up with more clutter

I don't **** know

As long as you don't ask what Japanese game stores are asking, or follow YAJ prices, or eBay, or advice given on AO, you'll be fine. Those aren't indicative of the market.

You should sell it for normal money like that guy did one time.

grail 101, the asking price for a shmup is the greater of £Grail or 2x purchase price + £100
