Re: Couriers
I was watching this show called shipping wars. It's a show where (ground)shippers compete to offer the lowest price for shipment on a website called Uship.com . So i just checked and it also has a uship.co.uk.
As far as i know you can put down the specs of the shipment, measurments, weight, origin, destination, date and every shipping company that is connected to the website can bid on it (lower to compete). But as far as i've seen on the show you do not have to choose the lowest if you don't like their feedback/rating.
Personally I haven't used it yet but am planning to do so as soon as i have a cab to ship.
Hope it helps.

Re: Couriers
Great! I didn't know there were other websites like it. Shiply looks even better because it's UK based, whereas uship is mainly US i suppose.Spectre wrote:Same principle as shiply.com which I think is quite well known

Re: Couriers
uship is international; There is a uship.nl as well, Jinxz. And they even have the option of selecting 'Arcade Machine' for the type of object that you want to have transported. Cool

Re: Couriers
Another thumbs up here for Martin
Very helpful and friendly chap - a pleasure to chat to as well. He treated both the cab I was sending and the one he was delivering very considerately and with great respect.
The whole process was made effortless by his service and I can't recommend him highly enough
Very well priced too

Re: Couriers
Hey all, dont know if people have used the site for Cabs, but Ive just used http://www.anyvan.com" so shift a load of stuff from Amsterdam back to the UK (house stuff before anyone jumps on that!!!). Basically, you put the details of what youre moving, from where to where and when, and people bid on the job. Lowest price normally wins, but drivers have feedback the same as on eBay, so for me, it was perfect. Hope it helps!

Re: Couriers
Does anyone have a recommendation for a courier in the US? I want to ship 4 cabs from Florida to Washington, and uship.com seems to think that's worth $2500. I could import cabs from overseas for cheaper!

Re: Couriers
Just to update, I got a shipping bid of $1400, which is not that bad, but I'd still be interested to know if there's another option in the states for shipping.

Re: Couriers
Does anyone know of any couriers around scotland or who can delivery quick to scotland, specifically from Gloucester to Edinburgh.
I've tried a few recommendations here from Lancs guys (too far they said) Martin (on wait until scotland jobs pick up) the scottish couriers hm (said yes then no)
Short of a 12 hour drive myself i need some more options

Ah didn't realise you'd already tried Martin. Some use Redwing as a 2nd option, I've never used them myself yet though.

I’ve used Redwing before. They aren’t quite as careful as Martin but they are cheaper.Flinnster wrote:Ah didn't realise you'd already tried Martin. Some use Redwing as a 2nd option, I've never used them myself yet though.
