Universe BIOS mod in UK?

Postby kernow » February 25th, 2017, 12:28 am

Anyone else who can fit a socket for me? I have the BIOS already. :)
I don't know who does it in the UK anymore

Long shot, have you tried contacting that GadgetUK guy?

He's on Youtube doing tonnes of Neo fixes, although it's mostly his stuff. He's on Neo-Geo forums* too.

* I've never actually interacted with him as I never really go there anymore.

I don't really think that he does stuff for other people usually, but I can't think of anyone else in the usual channels.

I need an RGB mod myself on my spare homecart console, but as I'm not desperate I never really put the feelers out.

I guess you mean anyone who can de-solder your existing BIOS chip from the motherboard and solder a uniBIOS one in place?

Edit: just re-read... or fit a socket..yeah :)

Yep!

Hokuto, what serial number is your neo? I've done a couple of rgb mods now but on a 240k and 260k (3-5 mobo) and it's just a case of cutting a few tracks. Depends though as yours might be an earlier version and that would require the more complicated rgb mod.

I might PM him actually to see if he can fix my buggered neo too.

Anyone else though?

I can fit a socket for you, if you know which tracks to cut on the others I'll do them too.

Oh rad. I've **** one board up trying to fit a socket myself. It needs a load of tracks replacing. I'll PM you in a bit!

Just dug it out the loft, it is 069807.

Good luck with your Neos.

How many carts are you up to now?

Nice collection. I recommend getting Fighter's History Dynamite. It's a very fun game in single player mode too once you understand the dizzy mechanics.

That's a nice collection.

I see that Fire Suplex game hiding away! (didn't know what it was at first glance), never played it, any good?

I recently got WH2, I was in a dilemma whether to get the Jet version or just 2 and I went with plain 2 as people preferred that, truth be told WHP is what I wanted, but I'm not paying £300+.

The price of some of the **** poor early games has gone silly, and I'm kicking myself for not just buying them when they were all £20.

With that said those bigger priced games on eBay never get bought, and you see a lot of late KOF games go for pretty low prices, and I think the big hitters are almost unsellable.

I like the pixel art on fire suplex but it's a pretty average wrestling game. Got a mint copy for like 35 quid though, you just have to pick them up when you see a good price. Hehe

Got any doubles?

No boxed doubles I'm afraid, but I think I have loose carts of Last Resort and SS3.

... Actually I may have a complete double for SS3 but the snaplock's shagged.

If you paid a good price for your SS4 then you got a deal, as i think that game is crying out for a bump in price.

Was about £200 I think.

I bought it once for £110. And yeah it should be more.

Very nice set of carts, what you playing them on? I have been thinking of getting a PVM or maybe a B&O or a Sony to play my home
NeoGeo, I do have a couple of Nanao MS8-26's in the shed which I could possibly use...

Looks great, I was a bit worried about the lag with LCD. I played SS2 on an LCD at afriends recently and the timing seemed off, could be that I am really crap 8-) but it seemed like I was hit before I could block.

The timing issue on SS2 was most likely due to the processing on the LCD. Usually they have a game setting which turns all the processing off and makes the game more responsive.

If you're looking for a place to get games outside of eBay or forums try these lot. Granted the prices on their at the moment are excessive but sometimes they list a good bargain.

I've got 60 games on the Neo Geo now and the one I've had off there is one of the best condition. Was listed as New and it was still in cellophane with Yen Stickers and promotional material inside.

Ouch those prices.

I paid nowhere near that for those three.

I love AES but damn those prices.. I thought AES collecting was expensive 10 years ago, now it's insane.
