Power Coating // Serial Plates

Post by battlesmurf »

So dumb question. Wanting to get some Ponys powder coated, would like to preserve the little alluminum serial plate on the back. Would a heat gun remove this? Is there a way to mask it off?

What are some of the things you guys have done?

Thanks!

I just went ahead and gave it a shot. The aluminum plate's texture changed a little bit- seemed unavoidable- because of the heat. Heat gun and patience and it popped right up.
