MAME USB Joystick PCB's

Post by trev1976 »

My mate wants me to help him with a mame set up he's planning. Can anyone recommend a decent usb pcb for the sticks and buttons ? Are these any good ?

They are very much bang for the buck. Super easy to wire up and works well in my experience. Mine has support for PS2 too, but I don't think they make that version anymore.

Be aware that both .187 style connectors for microswitch joystick (as linked to by you) and 5-pin for Japanese joystick PCB (as linked below) exist:

Oh nice .. Thanks for the link. As they were so cheap I thought they might be a bit crap but it's good to know there not, also my friend isn't as anal as me about this sort of stuff so it's perfect for him.

Thanks

Don't know whether you went for this, but I got two of these, one was DOA within a couple of days, the other fine so far.

When they were both working MAME seemed to struggle to tell them apart, though fine in everything else.

Have given up and ordered a load of genuine Sanwa and an iPac from Arcade World, costs £140 instead of £25 though
