Sega Rally Arcade Machine Restoration Help!

Post by Retro_Boy_G »

Hey guys,

I've been given the task of helping rally driver, Petter Solberg restore his Sega Rally machine! I've managed to get some monitor stuff sorted, however now I'm in the look out for artwork and some panels.

Is anyone able to help at all?

I need the artwork for all panels that mount next to the monitors and replacement panels for the middle of the machine. (See images)

Thanks dude, I'll drop him a message!

As for the usuals, unfortunately I've been out of this game for about 7 years now, so I'm not entirely sure who most of the people are now on here.

Good timing...I have just finished vectoring the Dash decal so I now have the complete cabinet art available - side art, dash art, monitor bezel, base side strips and the 2 seat stickers are all done.

That's a Rally 2 with Rally 1 side panels - I assume you're restoring it with Rally 2 livery?

Do you have art for Rally 2 muddy?

I never noticed it was a Rally 2...just saw the Sega Rally in the title and the art on the side panels!
...I don't have any Rally 2 art at all yet unfortunately.

I've had a look on Google, and it looks like the Sega Rally 1 and 2 share the same side panels on the monitor. The only real differences I can see are the seats and the marque?

There's quite a few minor differences in the cabs, but with regard the side panels - they look very similar and are interchangeable but differ slightly.

The older Rally 1 side panels have a large recess on the lower rear quarter (smooth on Rally 2)
Ribbed recess above the sticker area (single/wider recess on Rally 2)
Sega logo recess only on Rally 2 style

This is an initialD side panel, but the Rally 2 panel is the same..
